i think russ going to the bench this year would need to be his idea. i think vogel still wants to keep his job and nobody wants to step on toes and create a ben simmons-type situation. i'd like it if russ offered to come off the bench, like, tomorrow.

like i said above, if he doesn't this year, then i'd put it on the table as a condition for him signing an extension (and thus not being traded to literally anywhere for literally anything). well, technically not an extension, but you know, a longer deal at lower money.

 

This is why I’m completely against giving away our young guys for players who only move the needle slightly.

 

Cavs basically copying the Bubble Lakers and having success: athletic shot blocking center, freak 4/5 defensive gumbyman, extra large SF.

In the name of Russell Westbrook let's dump that successful formula and try to out small ball with midget guards.

well, we're playing small AND slow/disinterested on defense. it's like the prescription for losing basketball games.

 

Imagine if they gave this much effort on D all season? We would be amongst the top three in the West.

This just isn't a very good team
-No secondary scorer (here's looking at you Russ)
-all their shooters (Melo/Monk/Ellington) have targets on their back when on defense
-Lebron doesn't have the endurance to go all out on both offense and defense for 40 minutes a night
-Vets such as Ariza and AB look like corpses out there.
-You have a coach who wants to go with small ball even when the league has figured it out and keeps playing it with midget out there (monk/Bradley/Russ)
