If you’re a GM, that is a massive gamble. The kid has to lose a lot of weight, keep it off, AND expand his game farther from the rim to have a chance at a career bereft of major injuries. I hope he can do it, because you never like to see a promising young career cut short due to injuries.

They aren't fat, they are under height. There's a HUGE difference.

Example: Zion should be 7'10" to be the ideal weight.

i'm amazed at how he's turned himself into a very good defender despite his physical limitations.

some of it is probably a concerted effort by denver to build schemes that maximize his size and hoop iq on both ends, but still...just a really unique player. makes me wonder what would have happened if arvydas sabonis came over earlier or could be transported into the modern game.

he had a pretty good rookie season and then completely fell off. wonder if it had to do with his work ethic or just a case of teams watching film and learning how to stop him and he never adjusted

Mine too. I stand by my theory that he would have been a beast if he was in the NBA 20-30 years ago. Wrong era for his style of play and slow-footedness.

THT, Bazemore, and Jordan to ATL for Reddish and Delon Wright.

At 6-8, 218 Reddish is a big defensive wing that could hit threes and he is only 22. Most decent wings that are 6-8 and up tend to slide over to the 4 and 5 in todays NBA. As a result, there is now a shortage of true 6-8 wing players. The game has gotten so quick, that 3s need to be like the 2s of yesteryear, so a 6-8 wing with the quickness to keep up with opposing threes is truly a rarity. So a decent 6-8 wing player is now a hot commodity and are functional. Though players of this ilk, may not be as flashy as some of the quicker elite guard types or point forward types, they serve a purpose and are very much in need. Kind of like when an NFL team drafts an offensive tackle or linebacker in the top 5. Not the flashiest position, but vital to a teams success. So with that being said, I feel that THT will develop into a star as a focal point on an NBA team, but he is somewhat restrained from doing so on a team that has Lebron James, AD and Russell Westbrook. He would either have to wait for these dudes to leave the Lakers, or he would have to be on a different team in order for him to reach his potential. In contrast, Reddish is a player that could actually maximize his abilities alongside LBJ, AD and WB because he does not need the ball in his hands to be successful, he is 3 and D.

I'm really high on Reddish, think he has "IT", would like to get him, and think he's a better fit than THT. BUT I don't think he's the best fit or the best utilization of our only trade chip. If we're moving THT, moving him for another young project isn't the answer. It's to move him for someone who moves the needle for the now, like Grant.

I hear you. Hopefully THT's trade value holds up and we do end up maximizing that trade chip. The Pistons just might swap Grant for Reddish and Gallo though. Another thing of note is this trade saves about 1.5 million, opens up a roster spot and brings back another Clutch client in exchange for another.

Who else will be rooting on Klay tonight? I really dislike the Warriors but will always be a fan of Klay.
