Plenty of role players in Lakers history who come up big when it matters. It goes with the territory.

I’m good with the Rondo trade. We need Johnson more right now.

I like Rondo's intensity but Johnson gives us more of what we seem to need.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Otto Porter Jr. available when we were looking? He’s been playing good ball for the Dubbs and is on a vet minimum. I have no idea why we didn’t sign him instead of one of our 100 guards since he can play both forward positions.

ah yes, NBA diva's acting like twats to the coach. And people wonder why NBA coaches never last more than 2-3 years on a team.

I would of love either Otto or Rudy Gay at the time. But we got Ariza and Melo instead.

i'm told this means you're a bad coach.

feel like a lot of folks had those names on the radar when we were out guard-hunting.

semi-related: man, i didn't think mills picking bkn over us would hurt as bad as it has. he's a big reason they're one of the only teams looking solid, and our guy hasn't played single game.

yeah, if you sub one of those 3 wings in and sub Baze out.... man, we're in such a better spot.

Yeah, after Mills beat us on Christmas I mentioned the same. Before the season, I was comfortable with our consolation prize. But even if he was available, I don't see him making that level of impact.

I think if you swap out both of those (Baze and Mills), we're probably 4th or nipping at the Grizz's heels.

Wonder if there’s anything extra in it for us, like a second round pick or something.

read: every winning team will give up junk for him (especially if it ups the lakers bid). makes sense. i bet THT is the best piece being offered, tbh. and the picks are all likely to be very late 1sts given who's likely to be interested.

What are you talking about? Most folks around here think THT is worthless. We will see just how much he is worth if he does get traded.

we're not helping his value (nor his he), but i think people are just trying to move blah salary for him instead of offering up good picks or prospects. this always happens. it's how we got pau (totally different class of player, but analogous situation): everyone forgets that dallas and chicago wanted pau but held josh howard and l(u)ol deng out of talks because...they were lowballing. then everyone freaked out when we got him for nada.

i don't know what's going to happen with grant, but he didn't make the improvement that he or det was banking on. obviously, any contender would like to add a mobile, rangy guy who can defend 3-4 positions and isn't a negative on defense. the question is: for what? i'm sure the clips are offering kennard and ibaka and mann or whatever! i'm sure the warriors would give them wiggins' big a** contract. is utah offering bogdanovic? are the nets offering joe harris?

point is: i don't think lotto teams flush with the fun assets det might want are in the bidding, so THT, a pick, and salary relief could win the day.

I don't offer THT for Grant, mostly because I think Grant isn't much better than THT, and certainly not good enough to push us anywhere near title contention. I'd rather continue to roll the dice on THT.
