hmmm...so we should start AD/lebron/ariza/reaves/russ and bring THT/dwight/melo/monk/bradley/ellington off the bench? THT should play with shooters and not russ (who creates shots for shooters). melo and reaves are pretty versatile on our roster (as is lebron of course). ariza may end up that way, as we expected. AD's not having a good year. rondo, dj, and baze should basically not see the floor. i'll allow rondo because he's proven the can be garbage and then show up big as needed. but dj and baze have not proven as much and should just be cut or used as trade ballast.
Even if all our players are healthy do you think Vogel will trot out the right combos and put them in optimal positions to succeed? I don't
In 1-2 weeks there is going to be a logjam I'm assuming IT is cut, KP, DAJ, Rondo will be bench warriors AD will be out Nunn still out? So you're going to have this to work with outside Lebron and Russ: Dwight, Melo, Ariza, Johnson, THT, Bradley, Reaves, Collison, Ellington, Monk Dwight is the only real center Melo can shoot Ariza and Johnson have size and are plus defenders Reaves can shoot and play defense THT off the bench is very appealing ballhandling/size/playmaking, no shooting Monk has been very good Coach loves Bradley and like during the bubble he was on the upswing I would do something like this Dwight, Lebron, Ariza, Reaves, Russ Melo, Johnson, THT, Monk, Bradley I don't think there is much space for Collison and Ellington That a ten man rotation that should get you enough shooting/size/defense/playmaking.
Now that's interesting. Stan Jo getting the start and Bron in at C. Shooting is going to get rough if Monk isn't hot or if Bradley is off. Why are we rostering two centers we can't play?
three guards. don't love. really reeks of throwing stuff against the wall at this point. love that stanley johnson gets a shot, but i don't think this lineup will be good. edit: would prefer to see howard/lebron/stan/monk/westbrook if we're just farting around.
Bron back to C. Stan Jo getting the start even with our covid'ers returning is a good sign for him sticking. Vogel couldn't wait to get his Christmas gift from Rob on the court.
I assume we'll get Bron at C tomorrow too No KAT the Laker Killer, no Russell, and maybe no Ant? Who's left? Beasley and Pat Bev?
Unfortunately this is the type of game our guys are prone to losing, a night they think they can take it easy, I expect lots of TOs from WB and the other guards
When AD returns I want to see Dwight back in the lineup and try to rekindle some of that 2020 success Dwight AD Lebron Bradley Russ Dwight, AD, Lebron and Bradley have lot of familiarity and experience. Even though all of them won't be optimized offensively I think they will still be productive on offense but very very good on defense. Dwight can be our 2019 McGee and once he's out we can go small and try AD or Lebron at C and then bring in Monk to space and pace the floor. I want to limit AD,Lebron at C and only go to those lineups late in games as a death lineup, I don't think playing them large chunk of minutes and starting them there is sustainable for playoff preparation and for their health. Heck as good as Draymond is, its been largely Looney starting at Center
curious to see how it goes. now you've got two subpar defenders at g in the starting lineup. i guess the knicks are the right test opponent?
