It doesn't matter if Lock isn't a top flight QB. This has been a great showing by the defense.

Big time run by Jacobs on second and 7 forces Denver to call a TO, gives the Raiders a new set of downs.

I believe Jacobs has tied his career high with 129 yards on the ground.

And DC hits Moreau for a massive first down on a third and two! Two minute warning. Could be game.

4-67 today gives Moreau 11-132 in his last two games. Finally stepping up with Waller out.

Raider win. Steelers lose. Raiders move up one spot.

Bengals win. Ravens fall to 8-7, tied with the Raiders. But the Raiders beat the Ravens, so the Raiders move up a spot.
    Colts win. They're 9-6.
Chargers lose. They're tied at 8-7, but the Chargers have the tie-breaker pending their next game.
The Bills beat the Patriots, moving to 9-6.

So, as I see it, the Raiders are in the 8th seed right now. Let's see if that's right.

Denver / LV third and fourth downs:

Trufant with a nice play as a fill in to stop a third down conversion.

    Third and three: Moreau converts.

Third and four: Carr felt pressure, bought time, and delivered off target. Jones couldn't get to it. Pressure came from Simpson's man, I think.

Denver third and nine: Hayward holds WR, probably wisely.

Denver third and fourteen: Raiders sniff out a screen, Crosby's pursuit brings him down short of the first.

LV third and 3: Carr feels pressure, runs for the first.

LV third and four: Jones sits down in the zone and converts with a couple YAC.

LV third and 1: Jacobs runs for about three.

What a throw and what a catch on that Carr-Renfrow TD pass.

Denver third and 20: completion to Jeudy to get into FG range (Hayward coverage).

LV third and fifteen, Richard catches a little safety valve for five.

Denver third and 7 - Perryman stops and suplexes a dude - short of the first.

Denver third and six - Jeudy drops the ball.

I don't think the Raiders saw a third down on that TD drive in the third Q. Thankfully, Jacobs was down on that possible fumble. Otherwise, dominant.

Denver third and 9 - Crosby gets pressure, Fant drops it, but two defenders were there. Probably wouldn't have converted anyway.

LV third and six on a promising drive. Tough play here. Parker's man just blows by him. Three receivers aren't open. RB is open to the left, but he's still short of the LOS and has a man on him. Carr sacked, stripped, and injured (chest) on the play. Nightmare. Goes from a long FG to a TO.

Denver third and 7 - hit Sutton, but Trufant stones him. No conversion.

Raiders on a third and 1. Jacobs runs into the line, doesn't convert. He had daylight to the outside. Good seal block by the FB.

    4th and 1 - Carr converts.

Third and 2 - Richard converts on a rare run.

Third and 4 - red zone. A few problems here. Slow route development again, except for Richard - who's again barely to the LOS. Carr locks onto someone on the right side of the field. Renfrow maybe? But Richard takes to a late post route, so maybe him. Not sure. Pressure - from Simpson's man? Carr takes the sack.

Denver third and seven. Lock takes off, but Keisean Nixon closes and stops him short.

Fourth and 2. Lock to Sutton. Conversion.

Third and ten for Denver - Jefferson's massive sack makes it so long the Broncos have to punt.

Third and 2 - Carr hits Moreau. If he had led him a bit, that might be a TD. Anyway, beautiful play design.

    LV DBs
    +Moehrig 1001 snaps, 22 targets, 90.5 PRWT, 72.7 PFF
    Abram 954 snaps, 72 targets, 112.0 PRWT, 57.1 PFF
    +Hayward 940 snaps, 42 targets, 79.1 PRWT, 77.7 PFF
    +Hobbs 709 snaps, 52 targets, 85.5 PRWT, 78.6 PFF
    Facyson 527 snaps, 65 targets, 95.5 PRWT, 47.0 PFF
-I guess we can refer to these guys as "starters" for the season. Abram is out, and his coverage hasn't been great, but he was great in run support. Moehrig and Hobbs have to be the two best DB pickups by the Raiders in a draft in forever. Hayward has been fantastic. And Facyson has been decent.

    Mullen 229 snaps, 24 targets, 84.2 PRWT, 61.7 PFF
    Leavitt 206 snaps, 23 targets, 99.2 PRWT, 64.1 PFF
    Robertson 137 snaps, 18 targets, 135.4 PRWT, 37.2 PFF
    Trufant 99 snaps, 5 targets, 87.5 PRWT 71.5 PFF
    Nixon 79 snaps, 4 targets, 88.5 PRWT, 74.9 PFF
    Teamer 44 snaps, 7 targets, 86.0 PRWT, 68.1 PFF
    Gillespie 13 snaps, 0 targets, 90.1 PFF
--Mullen has been good but injured. Leavitt is often outmatched, but he's a worker and a gamer. He hasn't hurt the team. Robertson probably doesn't have a role with the emergence of Hobbs. The rest of the guys need more reps to be evaluated. Trufant, Nixon, and Teamer have looked solid.

I want to talk about RBs quick.

    RBs
74.4 PFF: Barber 105 snaps, 60 plays, 267 yards, 2 TD. 6 broken tackles. Added Yards (Yards after Contact + Yards after Catch): 154. PRWT: 84.7.
    73.5 PFF: Drake 280 snaps, 103 plays, 545 yards, 3 TD. 9 broken tackles. Added Yards: 366. PRWT: 103.2
    72.0 PFF: Jacobs 530 snaps, 233 plays, 996 yards, 7 TD. 24 broken tackles. Added Yards: 682. PRWT: 82.4.
--Let's start at the top. Barber has been a huge lift for this team, filling in as a starter or a third down back as needed. He's clearly an effective runner and a solid pass catcher. I have to pay attention to him more as a blocker and see if he makes Richard completely redundant. Drake finishes with a rough season. He was very effective, even explosive down the stretch - and now he's injured and has a significant contract. Jacobs has come on strong, is hitting the hole, breaking tackles, and has nearly 1000 yards from scrimmage despite missing time. This is the Jacobs the team needs.

    70.6 PFF: Ingold 136 snaps, 14 plays, 86 yards, 1 TD. 1 broken tackles. 46 Yards Added. PRWT: 124.0.
64.8. PFF: Trey Ragas 9 snaps, 3 plays, 15 yards, 0 TD. 0 broken tackles. Added yards: 15. PRWT: 79.2.
    63.0 PFF: Richard 80 snaps, 17 plays, 62 yards, 0 TD. 0 broken tackles. Added Yards: 47. PRWT: 47.7.
PFF: Sutton Smith 32 snaps. 0 plays.
-Ingold is clearly the most important player here. A good blocker, a good route runner, and a team leader in mentality. LV will miss him sorely. The other three show the problem with RBs in the NFL. It's hard to find someone who can do it all, but it's not hard at all to find a RB who can step in and do at least one thing well. Ragas is a perfectly competent third RB. Richard is a good pass catcher and pass blocker when healthy, but he's not a runner. Injuries may be keeping him out of the lineup, and those limited reps might be hurting him overall. Smith - solid blocker. And that's about it.

I feel like I have said this more than a few times but this is a huge game for D Carr. Would love a good win finally but I'd settle for another ugly one.

    Typical Carr.

Beautiful opening drive goes for a TD.
Kills a nice drive with an INT.
Takes a sack when in FG range.

He's got to ride that running game and make the right read.

    OMG what a end.

First, I have to give DC a lot of credit on that last drive. He scrambled and made a ton of plays. That Hunter catch was amazing. Finger tip touch prevented the td but that worked better for us as Carlson is clutch as hell.

That being said, I don't think we should of been in that position at all. They couldn't stop our offense today. We just didn't get the plays done consistently. The D played great for me with the exception of the end of the half drive we gave up the TD. Tackling wasn't great especially in the 2nd half.

No matter what... amazing win. We hold our own destiny in this crazy season

NFL sees the money maker and moves the Raiders/Bolts game to Sunday Night Football.

This is as simple as it gets it is D. Carr's game for his legacy. He has a chance to finally exercise a bunch of demons Sunday night. This is in his house, he wins and we are in and against a hated division rival. We win I think he saves his job as the Raiders starting QB and Coach B's job too.

Gotta keep feeding Jacobs. I know he had a rib issue early on, but that doesn't mean we can stop running the ball. That's my only complaint about the offense. Well, Carr was deadly underneath, but I saw a weird stat - a career high 47% of his passes went beyond the first down marker. There really wasn't a reason to be as reckless as he was at times.
