    Yeah. Or they figured out how to "win" in a most sneaky way possible. No one could have predicted that.

    "Y'all think we're bad and losing, but give us more time to lose few more games strategically... and we might be a #4 seed in the West when it's all said and done".

    That's meta gaming at its finest.

    yep, optimism: rest of the west outside the top 3 basically sucks just as bad as we do.

    Yep.

    Otherwise, I'd lock this thread if I was a moderator.

    Maybe that will give us a punchers chance.

    Lol

    I don't understand tweets like this. There is definitely merit to the "what have you done lately" and "stop living in the past" arguments, but we won a championship LAST YEAR.

    I know the season has been a disaster but I don't know how the heck we ended up in 6th place, here's an opportunity to move up in the standings. The opening is there.

    Opening for what, Rock?

    Nets: Loss
    Rockets: Win
    Grizzlies: Loss
    Blazers: Win
    Wolves: Loss, KAT is going to score 40 since we have no one to guard him. But let's say we somehow manage to win against them...

    ...that is still 3-2. Not exactly great, but gets us back to 50% ball.

    EDIT: Nets seem to be depleted as well. They don't have Durant and we do have LeBron, so... we could end this stretch 4-1... maybe. In that case, sure we have the opening. Let's hope for the best.

    8 out of the next 12 games are at home. They have a chance to practice together and spend time in familiar conditions to at least try to right the ship.

    Here's the schedule

    vs BKN

    2 days off

    @HOU
    @MEM (back to back)

    vs POR (New Years Eve)
    vs MIn
    vs SAC

    2 days off

    vs ATL
    vs MEM

    2 days off

    @SAC

    3 days off

    @ DEN

    vs IND
    vs UTA

    They start Grammy's East Coast roadtrip @ ORL

    If the guys really want it, with just Bron + Westbrook they can try to get into some rhythm. It's the last chance for guys to get healthy and try to get into the swing of things.

    Before the recent covid struggles caused us to lose 4 in a row, we put together a 7-3 run over a 10 game period. It seemed things were starting to click and we were getting some really solid contributions from Reaves, Monk and Dwight off the bench. It's not shocking to me that we have looked terrible missing so many of our rotation players.

    I think we are closer to playing decent basketball than people think.

    Still haven't seen my projected playoff roster even w/o AD

    Dwight/Ariza/Reaves/Monk/THT/Lebron/Russ/Melo (and you can throw in Stanley Johnson as they need another big wing w/o AD). You can see the team played a lot better even with the loss having real NBA athletes rather then guys IT and Ellington trying to play defense

    Lakers are about to turn things around and go on a decent run. Lebron will turn into LeJerk if he needs to in order to lead this crew to the playoffs. Too many records left to be broken, so everyone better step it up a bit or Lebron will make sure this is the last decent contract you ever get in the league.

    Listening to ESPN LA radio the last few hours. It seems like the organization is not too discouraged because many teams are struggling in the West. Lakers are hoping for breaks (other teams injury situations, buyouts, trades, etc) and they know the Lakers team is March will not look the same as now (Flashback to Lebron in CLE 2018 situation). After Jan. 15 they will look to see what's out there and THT is the biggest trading chip.

    I'm seeing a lot more noise and narratives today about the Lakers going small with Lebron at C and Russ out of the game to erase the 20 point deficit.

    I think the Lakers would be wise to play THT as much as they can and dangle him as an attachment in a Westbrook trade. The problem is there's no suitors out there right now unless miraculously some team gets desperate around Mid Feb (which is what Lakers are hoping for). It might cost the Lakers Monk or Melo too.
