i'm almost willing to look past the non-shooting here because he defends and boards. stephenson, for example, doesn't. i think the end of the bench is for developing guys like this. i liked nwaba when he was here, too. never know when one's going to hit.
I think, especially with how we assemble teams having young, cheap, and hungry guys like this who can put up numbers can really pay off.
If he can develop a shot, he can stick around in this league... Plus, these games don't matter...want to see how he plays when there's real pressure to win
That's why Javale and a few other Lakers players have said in the locker room. I think its a far better comparison then to David Nwaba. Nwaba was stronger, bigger built and had more athleticism IMO.
tony allen was a better athlete than either. he wasn't always 34. and my comparison was for recent lakers players, not his general nba archetype, which is, i guess...rodman minus 4 inches? remember that tony allen was a point forward type in college. lots of guys who are remembered as specialists were actually stars/scorers in college (bruce bowen, for example) that had to rebrand themselves.
he doesn't come across as too bright, but looks like he has an NBA future as a journeyman bench hustle player
