    it’s definitely not the same … even though STAPLES was still a corporate sponsor name , still no way to compare it how awful the new name is …I think fans will keep calling it STAPLES.

    I miss the old days when we only had NIKE/ REEBOK logos on the jerseys , now we have some food packing company or some company nobody ever heard of paying big bucks to be printed on the jerseys

    F*** Nike. They gave us canary yellow in place of gold and tear away jerseys all in the same year. Fixed the jerseys but not the color.

    I think fans will still call it Staples Center, the Lakers arena, or will mock it by calling it The Crypt for now.

    But by contract, when broadcasting, it must be called by the new name to our massive fan base whether in TV or over the airwaves. Their name will be everywhere with lots of exposure. That’s what they are paying for.

    whether we call it by the official new name or not, they win all the same.
