Thursday June 25 7PM New York, 4PM L.A. .... NBA Draft 2015. The lottery was Part One. All our excitement and collective Lakers energy pulled off the 2nd selection from our 4th position based on our record. Now Mitch and crew have picks 2, 27 and 34 if they keep all of them. Or we see what they do with any they don't exercise. Time called for "Positive Vibration" leading up to the lottery.

I'm going with my lucky bunch here after calling the #2 pick and holy crap that's what we got. Add any and all positive vibes as the spirit moves you. The lottery got us here, now Mitch, you Jedi, break out that magic wand with our not one, not two, but three picks!! [IMG] [IMG]

in a perfect world we draft okafor, build around our young core of okafor/clarkson/randle and sign a MAX FA

the more i think about it cousins attitude worries me

he's known to clash with his coaches and thats a bad example for the rest of our younger players, he also isnt a proven winner which makes me think about him being dwight howard all over again.

on the other hand okafor has won at every level, has no knows headcase issues and just wants to win, he's also cheaper for the next 4 years

with cousins were paying 3x as much which could impact how much we can spend on FA and we also have to worry about a salary bump one year before.

    is that really worth it?

i love kobe but we cant sacrifice the future for one year. we already saw how that backfired with nash & howard. we gotta do the right thing and build a better team

with patience we can build a great team that can contend in a few yrs

gutting our team for one last ride and go thru all this bs again would be terrible

I have never watched the lottery. Considering the importance of this pick and how excited I am about it, I would like to stand up and watch live. What would be the good time to do so? I suppose there is some kind of ceremony and stuff going on before the teams actually start picking the players, no? How long does usually take? What is the time between subsequent picks?

Thanks for all the information you can give me.

BTW - In Mitch and our scounting dept. I TRUST!

A little establishing stuff and setting, probably commercials and then it's ON baby. Whatever the time is on the clock between teams. Not sure if that waits for Silver to shake the draftees' hands and they put on their team caps to start the countdown, or if that takes place while the clock has started already but with time to get the formality done. Be there or be square. Lottery night was like a game night here.

Really, for just 2 rounds? Doesn't sound right, but what do I know. The time between picks is not all that long.

60 picks at 2 minutes a piece is already two hours.

Maybe they'll put it on commercial free to celebrate the return of Lakers relevance after quick 2 years off?

Thanks for all the answers. I suppose I should get up rather earlier than later, a quarter after the official start probably...

Little did we know the title for this countdown thread to the 2015 draft would get even more critical than just picking the right players as it's a major moment in Lakers history. It has become downright frightful instead and now many of us believe a big

to trading our #2 pick for Demarcus Cousins instead of using it to draft Jahlil Okafor, a transcendent future all star center who can come in and play with high impact this first season on great cost controlled contract for years.....is needed. Screw this up and it will be regretted potentially for decades by hard core Lakers fans. Positive vibrations have now been replaced with a palpable sense of dread.

Don't do it Mitch. Don't you do it.

Keep the 2nd pick for the win!!
