Still coming off like a hater with this response.. I was a Lakers fan before Lebron was born dude.Maybe you too.. Like him or hate him, his success rate is amazing. I would love to experience those problems you mentioned, if it meant we're going to the Finals. Dumpster fire is what we were going through before he signed here. The common denominator, in 10 Finals in 12 years on three different teams seems to be Lebron James to me. I thought we would get back to the Finals last season if AD and Lebron were healthy, maybe the West is weak now.

KCP was particularly underrated due to a couple of shooting slumps, he still shot 41% from 3 in regular season and was a solid defender.

good 3&D guys are harder and harder to come by in the league, so to think we could replace his role in the team with vet min guys was misguided at the very least.

 

KCP no, but kuzma and harrell are no doubt playing better. but for those two it's simply a case of being in a better situation

 

Roles players are replaceable...the NBA is always filled with good ones every year.

 

but they're really not. advanced metrics are pretty flat for kuz, trez, and kcp over a few years now. it's a matter of minutes and in kuz's case, a slight uptick in rebounding, i think.

i really think they're the exact same guys we had here, playing similar (but not exactly the same, save kcp) roles. trez is back to being a 2nd unit wrecking ball, and kuz is fitting in as a successful tweener starter (we didn't have that role, which is certainly his role). so on that last count, you're probably right. kuz is getting to play a different way. still, though--nothing has changed about these guys' abilities, and at least two of them could be doing this exact thing here, now.

 

Honestly, he’s only been semi successful when on that extremely deep OKC squad of KD, Harden, Ibaka, etc. Since then, failure after failure after failure every new spot he’s landed in. I don’t think anyone will be trading for him other than for salary dump reasons.

That's false..blatantly false...you are strong with the Russ hate I see. I really don't get some of you cats. You are fans of a team but unnecessarily hate on it's players. As if your hating is going to prompt the team to somehow reverse course or you would rather lose to prove that you are "right". Must be a young guy thing or something.

Just Facts.
Besides individual stats, why don’t you list his TEAM accomplishments since this is a team game.

 

He has made the WCF x3 and the Finals once. On top of that, he has taken 2x teams in OKC (mvp season) and Washington to the playoffs off the back of his own play.

He has also been a great mentor for all his teammates, and figured out how to play with ant stars next to him.

He has more team success than CP3…

Also, you may think “making the playoffs” is successful, but us Laker fans, not just individual player fans, don’t.

 

That's not facts just your opinion. It looks like his teams accomplished more than the Lakers from 2012 until 2019.
