He’s not an expiring is he? I thought it was 2 years total and then someone in disgust after the 2nd OKC loss said 2 ”more” years?

Maybe not “optimism” … but we just won the championship barely over a calendar year ago, in what was one of the most emotionally cathartic title runs I’ve experienced as a Laker fan.

So we could go 0-72 the rest of the season, we could dwell in mediocrity for the next few years, it doesn’t matter. Nothings going to take that 2020 title away from me, and that championship is still proof that this whole being a Laker fan thing is overall pretty damn rewarding.

Sorry, I meant next summer he’s an expiring, as in after this nightmare season is over he may have value for a team that wants to dump salary.

right, westbrook + vet mins is a last place team. westbrook + vet mins + AD for 7 minutes is...a second to last place team?

My optimism is OKC just beat SA. So now we aren’t the only team they’ve beaten.

My optimism is that we’re still managing to win some games despite all the issues and Melo is on fire right now. The competition isn’t great but we could certainly have more losses at this point. If the team can manage to keep its head above water during this stretch hopefully they will be hitting on all cylinders when the schedule gets tough.

Next three games: Miami, Minnesota, and the Spurs.

Think we can get 2 out of those 3?

Since its the optimism thread, yes 2/3 is possible.

Butler is probably going to spank us though.

miami game is almost a certain loss, right? like tinker with lineups and try new things type of game.

minny's on a losing streak, so let's hope they've gotten their early solid play out of their system.

SA actually has a positive point differential despite their record, so in any case, don't expect a comfortable game.

here's my optimism: if we hadn't blown two huge leads against the league's worst team, we'd be in second place right now, 1.5 games out of first, despite *waves hands* all this.

I don't think the Spurs game will be as competitive as the last time. Poetl is out who was feasting off the pick and roll.

I do but we need consistent effort on both ends of the floor. If we play hard we can win a couple of those.

Yes, and beating the Spurs has to be one of them. Manny yes, Miami doubtful. But again, beat the Spurs just because.

2 out of 3 is possible. I don't think we can beat Miami except if they play an exceptionally bad game. Or Melo goes for 40. :)

Have a good feeling we will win tonight at home. The CHA win was a decent confidence booster for this group.

We beat the second best team in the league. A game everyone rightfully thought would be a blowout.

I don't want to hear anyone in the media speak about Butler being out. We're without half our roster.

Our SGs played great. 56 points from Monk, AB, and Ellington.

Effort and engagement stayed high, both on offensive and on D.

The team also had a nice energy all night. The effort on both ends was there despite some mistakes and that made the difference
