You rang? The defense for a rookie is amazing. With his offense everything's exciting. His shooting. Those passes. . His handles. His IQ. (defense says 'hold my beer" with the IQ too )
On defense, but a solid case could be made he’s got AC on the offensive side of the game enough to more than compensate for the defense and get him at least past hawk level?
Reaves has great later quickness and he's strong enough to body people up. He has great instincts. He could be a legit stopper in short time.
His strength and lower body leverage against bigger and heavier players has been a real surprise ….. all pre-“maturing” man muscle on his frame. And his toughness! He doesn’t have an exceptional wing span like THT or great hops but he plays BIG.
Yah I know. It’s too radical and you just don’t do this. But dammit he just might be a souped up unicorn lite. Put Reaves in the starting lineup and try him. They have tried others there at the 2 so far. Game knows game and these guys all see each other in practice competing for minutes. Their ego’s shouldn’t begrudge him a shot too with what he shows in all around game. Give him a decent leash and some additional strategy for handling the ball. Along with everything else he’s been allowed to execute amazingly well so far. Give him a shot at blowing up this year? If it happened how much better would we be now and when we get THT and Nunn back. We have the young players to be as exciting as our favorites on the Bulls now.
On second thought, though won’t be done, start him over Baze instead would be better as Bradley is playing well both sides of the ball most of the time and can lob decently. Always works on defense.
Yeah it’s pretty wild that an undrafted rookie is forcing the coach to play him this much because he’s doing so well so soon. 27 minutes tonight, his defense is needed big time.
Funny though... because he is still so thin, he's flailing there. But... excellent defensive positioning, most of the time. And boxing out!? The lost art!
Can’t say enough good things about this kid. He should consistently play 25-30 minutes a game. The defensive instinct to draw offensive fouls, the quickness and footwork to stay in front of one of the most prolific young PG’s in the game. The composure to hit a contested spinning mid range fadeaway in crunch time. Absolute baller.
It's bball IQ, positioning, and timing. Understanding the game goes a long way in getting PT. Still not sure why he didn't go late in the 1st round. Wonder if it went beyond his agent telling 2nd round teams not to take him. Wonder if he tanked workouts. But at the same time, I could see how he won't really impress on a 1 on 0 empty gym workout.
How about that clutch turnaround jumper down the stretch with the shot clock expiring? I thought that was huge.
Did you see that box out on the big??? I couldn’t believe my eyes. There is still someone who values the fundamentals!!!!!!
