Talen Tucker isn't going anywhere period point blank. Nunn will have to seriously stink it up in order to get moved. This kid started for Miami as an undrafted rookie, he can ball. These guys just haven't played yet, once they do and get going , we are going to be fine. I don't really see any big trades happening with the Lakers, a couple of vet minimums for decent young big with promise, on a cheap contract maybe.
i agree. any time someone starts dancing with the ball, rush them. even if they get a step, it's not their plan now. well, i'm old now. this was back when i could move.
What are the details around his non-guaranteed contract? What’s the deadline to guarantee him or not? Although on paper he might not be the biggest need in terms of our depth/roster construction when we’re fully healthy, I would be pretty upset if we cut him for financial reasons. He’s earned his spot.
I think he’s become invaluable when we need guard defense. I think if we have to make a cut he’s not who I’d get rid of. Love what they bring with shooting but for me it’d be Ellington or Monk, probably leaning toward Monk.
but we don't have to make a cut, right? my guess is that if we desperately need to add someone in buyout season, we'll know who needs to go (and it might be more than one). i'm hoping we're not in that position.
I felt like I was the only person on here who was excited to get AB back. Almost everyone here was kind of “meh” about it. But I’ve been a big fan of AB since his first tenure. He played really well for us before the bubble. As mentioned before I was upset with him not for skipping the bubble for his family’s health but for teaming up with Kyrie in saying the NBA players shouldn’t continue with the playoffs. But I always thought his play in the regular season was a big reason we got there. He won’t always shoot as well as he did last night obviously. He’s even had Ofers. But he always brings it defensively and for that reason I’m thrilled to have him back. As I said when we signed him, we’re going to need him since we lost our best backcourt defenders in KCP and AC Fresh.
I agree, but for me it was primarily that we did not really need a guard. We needed another Ariza, ideally. Well, now we're mostly going small with three guards and Bradley fits well, he plays better for the Lakers for some reason and he's a solid defender, so it worked out well, fortunately.
Yep. My lack of enthusiasm over his return was more so on Rob and the roster construction. If we didn't have 10 combo guards who are 6-4 or under and if it was a case of getting the band back together, then great! That's not the case though and we had and still have a big whole that has been ignored. If THT isn't ready for that role or Ariza can't catchup quick enough, then I want to know what the move is. That's a lot riding on something we haven't seen and a shelved Ariza. If either of those gambles do not pay off, we're kind of f***ed and Bradley will be the one to be cut because we're cheap and only signed him because he'd take the non guaranteed deal and Ennis wouldn't. Quickly back on topic of the Heat game, can AB stop trying fast break layups. In a layup line with AB and Baze, I'm not sure who misses more and wins the Derek Fisher award.
Ellington's team defense is no worse. AB's effort defensively doesn't translate to results, especially if he gets beat... which is a lot. He's only useful if he can stay in front of his man.
