AD playing like crap and acting foolish today with Dwight his teammate. There’s no need for all of that.
This team is a mess. Too many issues to count. Be nice if we had another wing over 6’5. Rob hasn’t brought in enough wing depth since we traded for AD.
The rosters construction has been a result of Bron and AD unwillingness to play the 4 and 5 more often than not imo. Why would we bring another above average SF if we know Lebron is going to play the majority of his minutes at this position ? Why would we bring another above average PF/strech 4 if we know AD is going to play the majority of his minutes at this position ?
this team could really use a dwight powell type utility big. nothing fancy. just mobile and big enough to not get killed on the boards. and yes, a big sf/pf type (like a harkless) would be nice, too.
1. Vogel needs to start AD at the 5. ASAP. 2. I know we got worked by the refs, but if you're this "veteran team" you can't fall apart like that in the 2nd quarter. That was seriously hard to watch. It's almost impossible to come back from that deficit against a good team like PHX. 3. AD & Dwight. We don't want to see that happening, ever. I'm not going to criticize chemistry & defense, that's to be expected and will improve.
This x100 Next few games are against non playoff teams like OKC, SAS and HOU (twice), will be interested to watch how they play against much inferior talent. I actually have a good feeling they will win Sunday vs Memphis. I am expecting this team to be maddeningly inconsistent but they will give us some hope on Sunday
Wasn't able to watch the game, but i'm guessing more of the same that resulted in the other 7 losses.
I think Bron is willing to play any position. He's not the problem. AD and/or Vogel are. AD even gained weight and looks like a real center. Just end this crazy experiment. DJ and Dwight will get their minutes when AD rests anyway. And yes, I also expected these two losses, but now it's time to get some "cheap" wins against inferior teams until we have some actual offense going and build a modicum of chemistry. Seeing AD going on Dwight like that last night was ugly. I did not expect that, and it does not help in the long run. At least I think it doesn't, but maybe those guys get into each other faces in practice too... that might be how they work, we've just never seen it on the court.
AD just hasn't been the same since the bubble no more willingness to attack the basket. just settles for jumpers
Yeah I thought about going there. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't maybe get that wrong with the Halloweenish cut out smile at first glance, even if we missed the absence of a thick stem top hat.
Well him and Lebron signed off on this Westbrick move: I'm a huge Lebron fan but this on these 2. Pelinka wanted Hield but let the stars get their way. It's on them to make this work
The guy was a terror to opposing offenses able to switch and then rim protect. We haven't seen that guy who made every Houston player fearing to go into the paint and outplayed Jokic since the Bubble. Fatigue was a reasonable rationale last year but after a decent first game he looked again like post bubble AD last night
AD probably hasn't played any ball during the off-season since the year before he got traded. I think it's just a timing/rhythm thing more than anything. He is a jump shooter, he's always been a jump shooter. When his jumper is falling , all the other things folks notice about his game falls in line. It's a false narrative that him playing 5 is some kind of magic bullet. He is going to shoot his jumpers when he plays the 5 too. The biggest difference with him is that he is moving farther out with his jumper. Hey Vogel said that he wanted him putting up 5 3's a game. He'll get his groove on from the perimeter soon. The dude is a great player for a reason. Bron is Bron, it doesn't matter what position he's listed at. He is going to play the exact same way he's always played. This has been obvious since he was in Miami, that guy doesn't need any help btw. The focus shouldn't be on making things easier for Lebron, it should be making things easier for AD. The bubble season, James and Rondo made a point to set up AD, go to him almost every time the court, keep him involved with touches. We went away from that some last season, and we need to get back to it now. Actually this will also be the best thing for Russ too. I'm still looking for the Russ/AD pick and roll action to be a regular set. I haven't seen it yet. I guess Vogel is still in experiment mode or something, I frankly don't think we run many sets at all, besides give Lebron or Rondo the ball and they'll figure it out.
