in this case...all of it? what the cavs did for the first three games of the gs series can't be sustained over a season or even a full playoffs. it couldn't even be sustained for 4 games. if love just walks, they're facing limited ability to upgrade the roster around LeBron/irving. if he stays and gets hurt, they're basically in the same boat anyway. if he stays healthy, they're that much better AND they can trade him for something. now, if they find a s&t, I think that's palatable. even if it's to a team with space and it's a TE plus a pick or something. but just letting him walk? I couldn't justify it as a manager. maybe as an owner, but you also have to think of the potential cost of LeBron walking in FA after he signs his inevitable 1+1 this summer.
I changed my mind on Love, you guys are right there. But there's no chance that LeBron leaves Cleveland again. No way no how. He'll stay there and lose Championships for the next 5-7 years before he retires.
Yeah that makes sense. I'd definitely to sign-and-trade him for a huge contract if they are allowed to do it. Realizing that Thompson turned down a 4/48 million dollar deal this last summer... Here's what their contract situation looks like next season assuming Thompson gets 4/50 million: Kyrie: 14.8 million Thompson: 11.7 million Varejao: 9.7 million Love: 19 million That's over 55 million without counting Shumpert, JR Smith, or LeBron. They've got no room to do anything even when the cap goes up! That's crazy! They're going to be married to this team for the next 5 years and there's not much else they can do... If Love and Irving and Varejao keep getting hurt they'll never win a ring and they'll be stuck in mediocrity forever.
Well if he can stay out of mixed UFC matches with Ronda Rousey arm baring him and then not accepting his tap out just because she wanted to hear his shoulder POP, then that shouldn't happen again.
LOL, you guys are awesome. I could care less if the Cavs win a title, honestly. I don't really have a problem with Lebron. Not a fan but not a hater either... I just don't have any interest in him. I'd only have a problem with the C Bags or Clippers winning.
I don't have a "problem" with him per say. I think everyone here knows I think he's a top 10 player all-time already, maybe top 5. I just don't like his mercenary style where he leaves a team (that is then decimated) to join up with other all-stars. Then when those all-stars begin to fade, he kicks them to the curb and goes to another team who had the #1 pick in the draft 3 times in 4 years. My reasoning for not liking Cleveland is Gilbert basically crushing the CP3 deal with a Comic Sans manifesto due to him being butt-hurt that his team is not in a market that anyone wants to play for, then "somehow" getting #1, #4, #1 and #1 in that order...coincidentally right after he lost the best player in the world. I never really believed in NBA conspiracy theories until that one. The man who just happened to make a giant plea that small market teams have a huge disadvantage lands the #1 pick 3 times in 4 years? Yeah. Sure. Gilbert might want to wipe his face after the obvious salad tossing he gave Stern.
Would you make a move with Orlando involving Tobias Harris , Vucevic , Okafor Hill and Young? I think the magic has some lack of star pressure in the team. and maybe Harris will leave otherwise. Okafor can fill that Shaq/Howard thing. Harris and Vucevic makes the starters really powerful.
I wouldn't worry about Harris or any other Restricted Free Agent. I think only a total of 2 left their respective teams last year, and the one who departed Houston had to take a poison pill contract to get put that deal together so it'd make it virtually impossible for Houston to match. Plus, historically, we don't go after RFA's. The only rumors I have hard I believe are from Pincus and Larry Coon. First target in free agency: LMA. After he says no, then we move on to UFA's of the 2nd/3rd tier variety.
I was only referring to that mention of Harris/Vucevic for Okafor/Hill/Young... I don't mind Harris, but a lot of people are overrating him for one good breakout season. He's not that great.
Gotcha. I still think he re-signs in Orlando. Ugh! This draft and free agency can't come soon enough!
Yeah no thanks on that Orlando trade, yikes. Okafor I think will be better than Vucevic within a year and Harris is an RFA this summer we can sign if we really want to. We lose that trade in a landslide.
Woj just reported that Hill's option likely won't be picked up, I know that seems like a given but since it's from Woj that brings some legitimacy. Lakers want to have as much cap space available as possible. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--lakers-jordan-hill-163456728.html
