Vogel said he's going to leave it up to the players for how much action they think they need in the pre-season. These are all vets who know their bodies very well. That's why they've been 15+ years. There's 6 pre-season games, they don't need to be out there for all those. I don't want a 4th string non NBA'er rolling up on the ankle or leg of one of our stars. Just look at our 4th Q lineup, most of those guys will never be heard of as NBA players.
my dad asked yesterday why the nba even bothers with preseason, and i agree. the first 20 games of the season are essentially the preseason, given how most teams treat them (lots of tinkering, taking Ls to promote better habits/schemes, etc.). it's part of why i prefer harder early schedules to easier, which i don't think is our case this year.
Yeah but every sport has the equivalent of NBA’s pre season games and you don’t want to take more losses than you have to doing that while still evaluating your 2nd and 3rd string players and various combinations with the typical large roster changes.
I guess the other side of that argument would be that this team was completely redone and only have 3 players from last year's team. The more time they have playing with each other means less time figuring it out in the early part of the season. I do I get the potential for injury, but I think the above needs to entertained as well.
I think they are counting on figuring it out as they go. Melo even said that it won't always be pretty, but they are going to be ready when the time comes.
AD SHOULD kill it this year with Bron and Russ getting him great looks. That's Bubble Shot tough right there. Good D by DJ and 'Do with the help Looking forward to Melo's debut
More minutes for Reaves I would imagine. Hope he keeps on hitting shots at decent clip and taking care of the ball and making good passes and playing smart and opportunistic on defense. Go HK!!
I really don't know where to post this has it is a mix of WMC and Optimism Another L but we need to read it carefully. Our big 3 had +/- of +2, +2 and -5. We got killed in the 4th quarter playing with scrubs, will watch the game later. Anyway, without Curry, Klay, Green and Wiseman we should have murdered the Warriors, preseason or not, specially with our big 3 playing the biggest minutes. It doesn't look good the Westbrook fit, but I honestly think they will figure it out. I think you need to unleash Russ to be who he is. His game has too much flaws for him to adapt to a different context. I think it all lies on Lebron, he is the one that needs to be a different player for this to work. Warriors will be the worst rebounding team and we had the same rebounds. I maintain that we will struggle with the boards this year. We are also turning the ball over at an impressive rate. It's the 3rd game with +20 and the remaining two we had 17 and 16. Yikes I can't think in a way that a Russ/AD combo playing high tempo in today's NBA doesn't work. AD should have a bunch of easy baskets when Westbrook attacks the basket in open court Hot take: I can envisage coming playoff time that Russ sits in crunch time
