Hey as someone who never really watched or followed Booz much, has he always had the reasonably nice set of quick and varied moves on offense he has been showing lately? Or did he all of a sudden develop some more with the contract year effect in force? He surprises me sometimes with how good and quick some of his moves are. Would love to have him stay for 2nd string and 2nd string dollars but I doubt that happens.
Booz has consistently scored 18-22 PP36 in his career, on good FG%s. I don't think that's ever been a knock on him, but it's refreshing to know that he can handle the load of scoring in the paint when he's on the court.
Booz has always been a very polished offensive player with a wide variety of post moves. His problem was always defense and the lack of athleticism (for which he compensates by simply being wide and physically strong).
^ and fouling constantly with his arms. I like Boozer more and more. I expect him to leave this summer for a contender as a Sixth Man, but I'd take him back at the right price. Off the bench is the absolute perfect role for him.
Yes, that too. Since he can't keep up with faster players and can't jump high to challenge them, he uses his arms to push them. He often gets called for it, but not always, so he probably thinks sticking with that strategy is worth it.

I wrote this up about why waiving Boozer is the right move for both him and the Lakers. I've been impressed with him this year but he isn't part of the long term plan, time to let the vet run to a playoff team.
Good for him. We're going in another direction than Boozer, but I loved his professionalism last year. I wish him the best wherever he lands...
I liked Carlos a lot actually. He far exceeded my expectations of his level of play. I'd love to have him back, but I realize that "unlikely" is an understatement in that regard. Besides, we've got plenty of size if/when we draft a big next week.
