For starters, I'm not trying to make this a debate about vaccines or a political argument at all... I'm just curious if anyone knows the vaccination status of our Players.? We're now hearing reports of Players like Kyrie Irving & Andrew Wiggins that may not be able to play in their Home Arenas due to local mandates. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...xposed-unvaccinated-players-season-approaches I'm assuming any non vaccinated Players on other Teams would not be allowed to play in these Arenas either..? Again, I'm not arguing for or against. It is what it is. I'm just curious if this will be affecting any of our Players...?
I think I just heard everyone agreed to get vaccinated before the season. LeBron just said he was vaccinated. NOTE: No comments or debate on if the vaccine is good or bad will be tolerated in here. No political talk AT ALL!!! Only discussion on if our players will be vaccinated and the repercussions in games.
Pelinka said in his press conference last week that the team (players and personnel) are going to be vaccinated by the start of the season.
I think it’s a private medical matter. HIPPA and stuff. I do find the potential conflict between staffers and coaches that have been “required” to be vaccinated vs the players represented by a union who are not required to do so - is something that is brewing. Easy to see the viewpoints on both sides. it should be interesting to look back on this situation in a few years, and see how everything turned out versus the precautions taken. Not sure I know who is vaccinated on our team or not, and nor do I care. But when policies are in place that could prevent any player from playing based upon their medical status, it’s forced to be a topic of conversation. It can/will affect whether your team wins or not, so how can it not? Already missing the Pre-C days, and hope for their return.
i'm assuming the entire roster is, or else we'd be hearing about who wasn't like we are with kyrie and wiggins bron is for sure
Kareem chimes in, emphatically, and for him you know he has given it much thought. Looking at both sides though, keeping this civil .... its just his opinion. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/kareem-abdul-jabbar-offers-harsh-162523012.html
Yeah Rob said that the entire roster will be fully vaccinated by the start of the season. That seems to suggest that maybe some guys just got vaccinated and so aren’t technically considered fully vaccinated until another few weeks. If I had to guess, Bazemore was probably the last one holding out: EDIT: Yup, Bazemore was unvaccinated but Rob helped to convince him. He’s getting his second dose soon.
Yes, the factual status of players being able to play or not is 100% a topic that can be discussed. That topic does not involve opinion. What CAN NOT be discussed on LB is opinions on if the vaccines/covid is good bad, safe etc. Myself and the staff have no desire to referee pages of arguments here. There are other forums like Facebook for that.
I always love when LeBron uses the word "research". Kinda like when he uses the word "humble" but has a tattoo on his back that says "Chosen One". I just love double negatives and stuff.
good on rob last thing this team needs is distractions like what we're seeing with the nets and kyrie
Yup, some more quotes: The second one is interesting… almost makes me wonder if the way Rob explained it to him was simply “I don’t care what your personal beliefs are, if you don’t do it and risk your availability for us … we’re trading you!”
Thank you for allowing the topic to be discussed.. I knew this conversation could spiral out of control pretty quickly. I think the question has been answered. Please feel free to lock the thread, if it's too incendiary.
That is as real as it gets. Struggles of the league and for teams. Hope the players union does not try to make a stand on this. Would hate to see it.
I wonder if any of them have faked medical records in order to be available. They have the resources to pull that off I’m sure
Seems like they all are. Most of the players confirmed as much during their media day interview. The only one who dodged the topic and refused to discuss it was Dwight. No shock there. He was against it previously, but I'm guessing the team and Rob convinced him to get it for the sacrifice and betterment of the team. I'm just glad we don't have to deal with a Kyrie situation. If you are the Vegas favorite to win and one of your 3 best players might miss over half the season... there goes chemistry, rhythm, a harmonious locker room, and any chance of winning a 'ship.
Gerald and I will be on tomorrow at 8pm PST. And yes, we will be talking about the vaccine situation. HAHA, tune in tomorrow night. You will really like what I have to say. And yes, it might be bad and good. Mostly good. Depending on what your definition of good is, but it will be bad a**. If you are confused by what I just said, here is a tidbit of what it will be like but just replace food on this skit with the vaccine.....
