My psychiatrist suggested I join a sports forum as a way to relieve symptoms of my multiple personality disorder. The rest is history.
BTW it seems to me we have quite a group of members who went from Poster to Ghoster and only post once every few months when something "big" happens. People who used to be very active at CL and also migrated but stopped posting regularly. A shame because as much as I love this place, a bigger and more active community could allow us to also have more discussions, not only about basketball. I remember there was a time when I spent more time lurking in the "general" section of CL than the actual basketball-related one.
i wasn't very active on here at all during the dark ages of 2014-2017 and i'm sure there were others who came over from CL who can say the same. not much to discuss when the lakers were losing every night with ryan kelly, wes johnson, and roy hibbert starting
I was mostly a lurker on a certain Lakers forum (honestly don't remember it's name, not trying to throw shade) and then saw a post advertising Lakersball as a brand new Lakers forum so I decided to join. Didn't plan on posting as much as I end up doing but loved the kind of conversations that were being had on here.
Did you figure out where those gifs come from yet and whose feelings you could have hurt after all this time and still not knowing? Not saying they're sensitive like that, Nope.
Don't post often. Just come here for info & (mostly) knowledgable takes on our Team. Been around since the CL Days. Old School Laker Fan since 1979... Magic's Rookie Year.
I posted every now and then at CL. I ended up posting a lot more in here. Honestly I’ve always felt like this is a great groups of posters. I’m a lot busier now with two toddlers running around and a few career moves I’ve made so I haven’t been able to post as often lately but I still come on here most days to read posts and chime in when I can.
Good thread. I lurked at Club Lakers for a long time but never posted. I posted for years at Lakers Ground but burned out with them. I lurked here for the whole time it existed and started to post a long time ago but then bailed. I had decided that I could not commit to more than one community at a time. What ultimately made me make the jump here was the interactions between everyone. Not as much ball busting a*s hattery going on. Not as much of the: I am right and you are an idiot type of interactions going on. People seem to be able to disagree without a bunch of BS name calling. Also, there were a bunch of posts that went on at LG that had a political leaning and frankly, it disgusted me. At one point I went into a thread and told them they were being A-holes and should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this kind of krap to be posted on their site with THEIR involvement. They ended out removing it shortly thereafter but I just could not get over it. I left over that. One of the features that I actually like over here is that you can "LIKE" the post. It kind of lets you know if your comments found agreement or not and lets you know if people care about what you have to say. At least in a general sense. I also like that ultimately you can simply block someone if they get too much on your nerves. It's a good sized community, not the largest but very active. I think the size is actually about perfect. It becomes really hard to manage crowds when the numbers get too large. The quality goes down when there are too many ego's. When you can't manage them, it always gets away from you and that is when I lose interest. Love the takes around here, even when I don't agree. Posters seem to be able to post and not have a huge ego about it when others don't agree, that makes for better interactions. You can be a dumba*s once in awhile and instead of making everyone mad, we can all laugh at you. Not at me of course, I'm always right!!!
