Yessir that's exactly how I see it too. Not sure of the how or why on MOzgov/Deng but Mitch's track record before that was fairly spotless. I wonder how the interview with Jordan went?

Jordan-"Why in the hell did you make those deals for Mozgov/Deng"

Mitch-"Jim made those deals and tried to ruin my career using my name, you liked the CP3 trade before Stern vetoed it though right?"

    Jordan-"You're hired"

    I agree with you. Mitch doesn’t get enough credit. He drafted, traded for or signed;

    — Shaq and Kobe years
    Horace Grant
    Gary Payton
    Karl Malone

    — Rebuilding after Shaq
    Luke Walton
    Caron Butler
    Lamar Odom
    Sasha Vujecvic
    Jordan Farmar
    Andrew Bynum

    — Championship years
    Trevor Ariza
    Pau Gasol
    Patrick Beverley
    Ron Artest
    Steve Blake
    Matt Barnes

    — Swinging for the fences
    Chris Paul (vetoed)
    David West (vetoed)
    Steve Nash
    Antwan Jamison
    Dwight Howard

    — Rebuilding
    Julius Randle
    Jordan Clarkson
    D’Angelo Russell
    Larry Nance
    Brandon Ingram
    Ivica Zubac

There was a strange period after we didn’t get a great return for Shaq, where the team couldn’t bottom out properly because Kobe was too good. We didn’t have high draft picks or much assets to get things moving. Instead of going for a full rebuild, Mitch weathered the storm, Kobe stayed and he traded for a disgruntled star in Pau.

If the CP3 trade isn’t vetoed we probably roll out a team of Chris Paul, Kobe, Metta, David West, Dwight Howard. Kobe potentially wins 2 more rings as a FMVP and is universally regarded as top 5 all time while Kupchak is hailed as one of the best GMs of all time responsible for 4 rings and assisting with 3 others.

Man, life is just a series of sliding doors. Somewhere in the multiverse this happened.

What did I say that wasn’t accurate? Did not all of those guys complain about playing time? Marc just happened to be the last and final casualty. As far Marc, I could care less because he’s gone. Maybe it was just a coincidence that all of the guys who publicly whined are no longer here.

I wasn’t replying to your comment. Just trying to give Rob some props for his work on minimising tax while keeping everyone happy.

Of course you’d look at it that way with Marc with one final shot at him. It is just a coincidence with all of them for different reasons.

Not that way at all. It’s no secret here that I thought Marc was past his prime. If I wanted to take a shot at him I would. Maybe it’s you that’s being hypersensitive and confrontational.

i'm not familiar with all the protocols, but i imagine that a) things are different for vax/unvax in terms of length of shelf time and b) you don't have to deal with the actual illness, which decimated some teams (dallas, in particular) last year despite little fanfare in the press.

There’s a huge diff between catching COVID when vaccinated and when not vaccinated.

Death rates. Unvaccinated people account for roughly 95% of all COVID deaths nowadays.

Or, for our purposes, serious illness. Again, players took weeks and months to get right after being sick last year. Vaccines limit that probability. So, while rob stating it’s not a problem is an overstatement, he’s mostly correct that full vax dramatically limits negative outcomes for his organization.

Glad we're not in the position the Warriors are in. Wiggins might miss home games because he's not vaccinated, at which point the Warriors should only pay him for 41 games.
