I think for Houston, “winning” a John Wall trade would realistically be anything that gets his contract off their books without having to give up too many unprotected first round picks in the process.

They would be delusional to think they can actually get assets in return for him.

 

It's such a silly thing to expressly state, too. Oh, you want to "win" the trade? Congrats, so does everybody. Meanwhile, why would other teams want to engage in trade talks if they know your goal is screw them over? Such a dumb, silly, and careless thing to say.

Oddly enough, the game is on 1/25. I went to a game in Philly on 1/25 back in 2020. I really, really, really hope the next day isn't as horrific as it was back then.
