not sure he makes it back, but if he does, he'll act crazy again to get viewers. He definitely has the marketing part down pat.
Some of the things people remember on this site are flat out amazing. So random and far back. Loose P

Mitch bought into Jimbo's limited vision for this team. Jimbo was a cheap owner, wanted to sell hotdogs more than he wanted to sell a winning franchise. I live in San Diego, and I know what that optic looks like. Mitch worked for Jimbo and spewed the company line. Has anyone EVER heard Jerry West come out and defend what Mitch did with the Lakers before he was let go?? I know Jerry thought Mitch was a talented guy but I never heard him defend Mitch and Jimbo. NEVER! Honestly, I am more than amazed that Mitch managed to find another long term position in this league. The two of them had such a lack of vision, that it is amazing to me that he is actually still working. The reason that nobody was willing to come play here in those days was not really because of Kobe, it was the way the team was being run, the FO was krap and all the players knew it.
Rob weeded out every last player off the 2020-2021 roster that complained about their playing time either during or after the season (Trezz, Shroder, Drummond, Marc).
Piecing together the set of events with Marc Gasol. It seemed Marc didn't want to come back this season for whatever reason like Stein reported. Rob then pivoted and found someone that would be willing to absorb his contract who would then waive him. Rob managed to cut down this season's tax, while waiving Marc as he desired and found a decent back up to Dwight in DJ. Pretty obvious moves, but great execution to get it all done.
Just clicked on this, lol. Yeah, we had something like that happen with one of our boys. Man, my wife handed that off to me so fast. Like an NFL quarterback.
I think it's a little more than that. We could have easily dumped him on OKC, they have oodles of cap space. I think him ending his career and retiring as a member of the Grizz had something to do with it as well, even though he won't play for them again. Props to Rob for extending him that courtesy, least we could do after how last season went for him.
It's hard for me to say if that was the case or not but it certainly makes sense with the ties Marc and the Grizzlies have together. Our working relationship with them also seems to be pretty good which is a bonus, having willing trade partners is a benefit for all forms of society.
Mitch orchestrated, in my opinion, the greatest trade in Lakers history. He also orchestrated the one of the best until that midget (bleep) sucker, mother (bleep) midget veto'd it and set the Lakers back a decade. He's also making great calls in Charlotte. Mitch is a straight arrow and followed orders. His last two transactions, not withstanding, I am in complete cluelessness on why those were done, unless Mitch purposely did it to end Jim Buss career. Jim Buss had no business being in charge of the Lakers. To big for him. I'll leave it at that. And my theory is the only reason why the late great Jerry Buss had his son take over, was to keep Phil Jackson away from being the Lakers guy through Jeanie.
