He's been playing the majority of his minutes in Philly as point forward. He starts the game as as 1 but spends most of his time at pf

honestly, he can defend 1-4 (and really any backup 5), and that's a big part of his appeal. his offensive role needs to be a draymond green type off of a guy who can shoot. portland with lillard would be ideal, imo, but it makes too much sense to happen (mccollum could play well off embiid, too, btw).

fox's status is too high to warrant all the picks, imo (not that i'm huge on fox, but he's their franchise player and young).

and fox would probably entice morey more because it won't be viewed as taking another team's secondary players for his star.

Why should the Sixers FO want to accommodate Simmons by dealing him to a preferred destination after all the drama he caused them? Granted the Sixers are just as guilty for this mess for all the reasons we've already discussed, but unless a California team can blow Philly away with an amazing package, they're not going to give a rat's posterior where he wants to go, just how Popovich sent Kawhi in the opposite direction when Kawhi said he wanted to go to LA.

It's not about accommodating him, it's about him manipulating the market so other teams will be leary of trading for someone that doesn't want to play for them. It's an oft used tactic by agents to get their guys where they want to go, scare everyone away. Doesn't necessarily mean it'll work and especially because I believe he still has 4 years left on his deal. Teams will know they have control for awhile whether he likes it or not hoping to get him to buy in.

I don’t care where he wants to go as a GM. I’m doing what’s best for my team. Period.

yes, you have to keep in mind future stars, your reputation, etc, but Morey is a known wheeler and dealer.

    Good luck dictating your location

Thing is with him saying he doesn't want to play anywhere but those 3 california teams he could be possibly making the trade market dwindle causing Philly to lose a ton of options. Morey thinks very highly of himself and should have made his best deal when free agency started because his value is currently plummeting. He wasn't returning calls to anyone before FA started either which was a huge red flag and should have been cause for concern then.

It's nice to see Morey and Rivers have to eat crow on this. They made their bed, now they have to lay in it

Probably going to GSW for a package centered around Wiggins and Wiseman.

GSW are scary with Ben Simmons if they keep their core.

    Curry/Collison
    Klay/Poole
    Simmons/Iguodala
    Green/Porter Jr
    Looney/Bjelica

In my opinion thats only Klay returning to top form away from being at the nets or our level squad.

That’s why maximising your assets is key if you can handle the luxury tax. Durant turns into Russell turns into Wiggins and could turn into Simmons.

Honestly I think Currys underrated too because he's a "nice assassin". He's cold blooded and shines in the biggest of moments. Draymond is so unselfish. With a healthy Klay and Simmons added to that squad there a helluvah a defensive team

i'd demand green instead of wiggins if i'm philly. and i'm not sure it isn't better for both teams that way. feel like green and simmons are somewhat redundant in their preferred offense. and wiggins/wiseman just doesn't provide equal value.

just turn the clock back to a week before the playoffs and ask if that would fly. then ask yourself if that two-week sample is worth the seismic shift in valuation.

it was what? 2011? Agent 0 is out of his damn mind with the AT LEAST 10 years claim.

Other than that -- no doubt that this was the reason.

Capella just signed a 2 year extension in Atlanta for $46 million. That will keep him tied up thru the 24-25 season. Total money is $82 million and he's only 27. He averaged 15 points 14 rebounds last year

I disagree for a couple reasons. Draymonds a smarter player and has so many intangibles that Simmons doesn't. He's a great quarterback on defense calling out the plays and getting people where they need to be. He holds people accountable on and off the court and although many may not like the way he goes about it he really is a glue guy on the court. He's unselfish much like Simmons but he knows when to take his shots and he's hit some big ones from deep as well as fooling everyone and getting easy buckets at the rim because he doesn't shoot a lot. He does whatever is necessary to win on offense and defense and puts the team first. Most importantly he's not scared of the biggest moments and that's not something you can teach. I don't care how long Simmons practices 3s. He can hit 100 in a row in practice I just don't ever see him 1) having that conviction to shoot them in games when need and 2) hitting them at a decent percentage. He's not a killer out there or the vocal presence to make up for the loss of Green. I think the only place where you can compare them is on defense and I'd still take green over Simmons because of his tenacity, team fit and overall competency in big games which is invaluable in the playoffs.

I just don't see GS ever making that deal except for this one caveat. Green has pissed a lot of people off in the organization and Simmons is younger. Imagine a highly motivated pissed off Green sent to Philly...

Also on the Simmons front, they're now running damage control...:

"Stop using my name to push people's agendas," Embiid tweeted. "I love and hate drama. I love playing with Ben. Stats don't lie. He's an amazing player and we all didn't get the job done. It's on me personally. I hope everyone is back cuz we know we're good enough to win."

Honestly I don't believe Embid did this on his own. This is the FO at work trying to clean up this mess and recoup some of Ben's value. If Embid was really this concerned or felt this way he would have stepped out a long time ago and posted this stuff
