I watched those earlier today too and his message afterwards. He's the right fit at the right time imo.
I am a Melo fan now sight unseen. I really like him. Never heard him interviewed, certainly not like 30 minutes. And he's got big calves even sitting down.
A couple of reasons I want to see Anthony win a ring while contributing is to spite George Karl and Phil Jackson. Both have aired some cheap shots against him recently.
If we win, it won’t be because of Carmelo as a main reason IMHO. I don’t recall what was said now, but surely it was related to him being “the man” on a team and falling short. does winning as a role player really change that? I’m thinking no, but it changed stuff for Dwight, so maybe so.
People are allowed to mature can they? I'm sure that was their argument but let it go just to stay relevant. Same rationale you made somewhere about retired players who can't stop criticizing the new ones. He won't be the main reason (I never said he will be) but as long as he contributes positively and plays according to his capabilities then he deserves it.
It would be the cherry on top of a hall of fame career, and a feel good comeback story for sure. Hope he has enough left in the tank to make an impact when it matters college Champion Olympic Champion just needs NBA champ to finish it all off
He can just contribute really WELL hopefully, be clutch, surprise a lot of people with his work on defense, be a good teammate and mentor to the young guys, and if we win a ring that above will have helped tremendously. And he should get the deserved props for it whether he’s the Man or not. Great way to cap his career.
Melo should be able to score off the bench easily. So we won’t have those 5 minute dry spells where nobody can make a shot.
