i've said this before, but i'm not sure we can rely on shooters to translate here. i feel like we've had bad luck with reputed shooters and good luck with reputed non-shooters.

i think part of it may have to do with our roster structure and the kinds of looks it generates. but this is all conjecture.

anyway, we have 4-5 better sgs than svi right now.

THT at the 4? He's like 6'4. Maybe the 3 for small stretches.

Positionless basketball. Westbrook and LeBron are guys who hit the boards and the NBA is heavily transitioning to that type of basketball. I'm not calling it but I won't be surprised if it happens, the 4 is more and more an outside position

I'm trying to read this roster construction. There needs to be a plan here. We may sign a couple guys more but I would say the current roster is our core rotation, so it's odd to have the 4 with so few options

AD is the best 4 in the game. Ariza, Melo and maybe a little Lebron should work.

Exactly what I said. We need another body for the 4-5. 27 wings is enough methinks lol

Lebron and AD are both top 5 PF’s alongside Durant and Giannis.

During the regular season we’ll have AD play 15 mins at PF and Lebron about 15 mins there. Melo will take up the rest.

The 30 minutes or so that AD doesn’t play at C - we’ll have Howard and Gasol cover (C is one of the weakest positions in the NBA).

Lebron will give us 15 mins at SF. I assume Bazemore will take up 20-30 mins here and Ariza will be the cover and play some defence.

SF is our weakest position because Lebron just can’t go toe to toe with young SF’s for a full regular season. We’re strong at the 1, 2 and 4. And when AD pushes up to 5, we’re strong there too.

We just need some more size period. We have plenty to defend 1 & 2 but you're right we could use more at the 3. Someone who could defend the 3&4 preferably. We have way too much depth on the wing, we need some in the front court

I'm guessing after we get Rondo to sign on the dotted line, we'll look to add our wing in the next week-10 days so they'll be camp ready. Then we'll keep the last spot for when the Love, D Jordan, or Millsap situations clarify themselves.

The Svi interest shows we're still looking for another shooter. I think Ennis is our target, but he's weighing role and money, neither of which he'll see with us. And he's too young to be taking minimum deals, because especially when you're in a position where you're fighting 5 others for minutes it's going to be tough to get bigger contracts elsewhere in a year.

Personally I think we should bring Wes back for that role. Much more realistic based on the uncertain role we can offer but provides D and shooting.

Yeah, I would bring up Wes. But if he hadn't signed so far, maybe shows we are not interested. But he's also still free so he can't say he has any interest around the league

Wes tanked on offense last season, his defense wasn't impressive either. I think we've moved on from him.

Suns are very well managed. Thaddeus is the kind of glue guy that help the team win, like Crowder. I bet they get him for like a 2nd rounder

I don't get the "Wes Matthews is cooked" or "DeAndre Jordan is done" talks. People, we are talking about a 14th or 15th man. A situational 3rd string player. You're not going to get a star nor would you want one in that role.

Jordan isn't done. He's not a starter. But he put up 8/8/1 in 57 games and started in 43 of those, averaging 23 minutes a night. For the role that would be asked of him, he's absolutely not cooked at 32 years old. He can block, rebound, and gives another lob threat. Behind Marc and Dwight, I'll gladly take him. Marc isn't going to play 82, Dwight is going to get in foul trouble and will get tossed from a few games. If you're wanting to limit AD's minutes at the 5 in the regular season, I have no problem adding a guy like DJ.

Ramona and Fischer both have linked us to him, think there might be some fire behind that smoke.

Could be, or in could be circumstance. Jordan is very dependent on his PG to be effective in the offense. CP3 basically made his career with the Clippers. With the Nets Kyrie was busy setting up Kyrie. Harden, when he took over as PG was busy making both Durant and Kyrie happy. Jordan got lost there. I would imagine that Russ, Rondo and LeBron could revive him unless he suddenly lost all his athleticism at age 32, which is unlikely.

It’s what’s done every year here and in GT, along with putting ceilings on 20 year old players’ careers.
