Lol this is clearly overreaction videos. I mean "injured Green"? It was a screen lol

Yes, he gets dirty sometimes and I don't like and don't want it. But that's because of the scenario he is in. The locker room leaders are Kawhi and Paulie, of course he does whatever he wants.
But with LeBron, Russ and a strong organization, he can be kept in line and channel that energy to play hard but fair, because we are not bullies.

I don't actively want him, but wouldn't mind him. He definitely is better than any other guard that are being mentioned.

But we need to stop this buyout thing. It's giving contenders players they could never have, it's not fair

i still maintain that due to the nature of that push against cp3, there should have been heavier consequences... not only is there no room on our squad for bev, but the league really missed an opportunity to take a stance on this sort of thing.

of course the adams screen video ends up with harden getting three bs fts.

oh, and the play on green was egregious because green wasn't moving, so the contact was clearly initiated by the screener (which is a foul). adams leaned in (and maybe slid a bit, so could have been called), but it was much more like a legit screen than bevs'.

It's a bit early to worry about this, but next summer's FA crop is trash. This means two things, 1) expect a busy in-season trade market. 2) we're going to be going after the same FAs as everyone else because there's only rotational players hitting the market.

Hopefully we can convince the guys who pan out and signed 1 year deals with us to stick around. We'll only have the minimum and the $6m+ MLE.

Here's the highlights of Bobby Marks article with ESPN+ on next summer's free agency...

Only 20 unrestricted starters hitting the market.

If Russ works out, him taking a slight cut like CP3 for a longer deal is best case scenario.

Beal will land on his next team via trade after he gets his bag from Washington.

I don't see Lavine leaving because the Bulls are trying to build a good team there. Fits might not all be perfect, but they were one of the most aggressive teams in the past 6 months. He'll be wined and dined but there isn't a better option from the teams with money. DET, SA, ORL, CLE... Bulls will at least be a middle of the pack playoff team.

Aaron Gordon might very well be the best UFA who actually hits the market.

Wonder if Dennis is still expecting a $25m a year payday.

I wouldn't be willing to give Russ a deal like CP3 mainly because once his athleticism is gone so is his game. The major difference between CP3 and Russ is CP3 can shoot the ball. He's also a crafty vet who's game has aged like fine wine that doesn't rely on being athletic more cerebral. Russ doesn't have that.

I'd be willing to go max 3 years for max money taking him to his age 36 season, hell maybe not even that

Unhappy about his role here moving forward or it's just time for him to retire because he doesn't think he can contribute like he wants to? This is odd

If Gasol wants out the Lakers better get on the horn to Boogie and make that happen quicklike! Dwight can't be the only big body on the bench

CP3's deal only has the first 3 years guaranteed and he's taking an $11m paycut this upcoming season. I'd be all for a similar deal for Russ.

Not for 30 million a year for a player who can't shoot. His entire game is predicted off of his athleticism.

He makes 44 this year and 47 next year if he opts in. Much like Paul I think he will agree to opt out for a longer term deal for around the same money but there's no way I would give him 120 for 4 taking him to 36-37 years old.

Combine that with the contract LeBrons gonna want and the Lakers track record of handing out bad deals out of loyalty we would probably be on the books for near max for LeBron for another 2-3 years and Russes deal. I don't like it at all.

If they were to both take team friendly deals, maybe 75 million for the next 3 years (including his opt out year) that may be more feasible and an easier pill to swallow.

But that's honestly getting way ahead of ourselves, obviously they'll see how this year plays out.

Gasol is about done IMO. It looks like every single player besides Talen, that played when both Lebron and AD were out are being replaced.

Look, I don't really like how dirty the guy plays, however I think an enforcer can be a good piece but then you went on to say that we don't play that way, hence if we got him, we would not want him to play that way. Hence, what is the point of having him? His toughness, and frankly, his overly aggressive approach is what makes him what he is. Without it, truly what is the point. I am not attacking you, just pointing out that if we don't want to play dirty as a team, he is likely not a good fit for us. Now, if you want to debate whether some dirty tough guy antics might be worthwhile on this team, then we might actually have a discussion.

I was ok with Artest’s elbow to Harden’s dome.

Not really ok with Bynum’s cheap shot on mini me guy.

Artest played with an edge all the time, and you knew he could go street on you if you pissed him off. He once stabbed a guy with a table leg he tore off said table LMBO.
