That’s a big statement. I think he is better than Hart. But even then, Hart is bigger and an excellent rebounder.

I’m not sure Caruso is better than Smart. He isn’t a better distributor or shooter… so it comes down to defence and that’s a wash.

Considering the name value even at his age, I'm surprised at how quiet it's been with him.

That was a short lived marriage in Memphis.

Won't be any more relevant in Minny. Actually think he and Russell will have a more difficult relationship than he would've had with Ja.

Odd trade. They lost Grayson Allen and he was a good replacement to keep the defensive tightness. He's gonna scramble in the league

I think Smart is really dumb. I always laugh at his name. I think he makes a ton of bad decisions. In a guy playing this type of role, you want someone you can trust. To make incredible gifted things you have the superstars.

So I rather have someone like Caruso. I honestly think that this type of role is undervalued in a contender. But then you see championship teams and you can always find a dog, a guy who only with the defensive energy changes the tune in the game and make 2 or 3 stops in a row. Then offensively they just don't make many mistakes and capitalize whenever they are forgotten by the opposition.

This type of guys do things that are not yet in the Boxscore or advanced stats. Maybe you can see the impact through the +/- in specific situations, but that's all. It's really on the eye test

smart's better than caruso, mostly because i think he can hold up for more minutes and has slightly greater versatility on both ends (can guard some forwards, is a better off-the-dribble creator--though still not great), but you're right that his decision-making has always been problematic. i trust him to play hard, but not necessarily smart.

I agree. He also brings to the table a determined mindset and a is a ferocious competitor. He's also the enforcer on their team, Matt Barnes-esque if you will and every team needs that guy. "Hey Rambis get in there and foul McHale" lol

With Memphis trading Pat Bev for multiple players, they apparently have 18 players under contract now.

Makes it more likely they may buyout/waive Rondo (or try to trade him elsewhere).

If we do bring him back, I really hope everyone is on the same page that he’d be the third stringer and not get much regular rotation. I’d be worried that Vogel feels obligated to give him some heavier playing time due to his name and contributions to our 2020 title.

I like Rondo but I don't want him back at this point. We have a lot of guys that are gonna be fighting for minutes now as it is and although I didn't get to watch him a lot last season, what I did see wasn't very good.

That being said we have an assistant position opening up with one of our coaches going to the G League right? I think that might be a great fit for him. Love his knowledge of the game and how he's able to teach.

I love Rondo, and I’m grateful for his contributions to our 2020 championship team. But I’d be pissed if he cuts into Nunn’s playing time if he were to return.

Does he lower the average age of our team? If not, he can share geriatric athlete tips with the squad to help keep everyone healthy.

    plus dude punched CP2

But his useful days in the court are pretty much over. He might be a film room buff, but we’re Probably better Off grooming a youngling

Lol. Dude just can’t get out from under the Lakers’ shadow. From LA’s second team, to the Lakers’ former home. Purgatory indeed. Enjoy the rest of your five years there, champ.

No Clipper Christmas Day game. I know Kawhi will be out but I just think it’s funny.
