I had gone to LA Live when the Kobe memorials were going on to sign the wall, pay my respects, etc. While there, I realized the Clippers were about to play, and decided to look into it and found the tickets were dirt cheap. Like $20 a pop form what I remember. So ended up getting some tickets in the 300 section, close to Kobe’s retired jerseys (they left them uncovered during this time).

Figured it might be a fun experience, get to see Kobe’s jerseys, boo the Clippers, maybe it ended up being a good game. (As an aside, while there my family and I got the sense that maybe the Clips were piping in fake crowd noises, we’d hear moments of loud cheering and then look around to see most of the crowd pretty calm). Ended up being a boring game, left at halftime.

But ever since then, I’m STILL frequently getting calls from the Clippers trying to sell me more tickets or convince me to get season tickets. Often once a month or so, but recently just got 2 within a week.

So annoying. Once I had to tell the guy flat out, “look, I hate the Clippers and only went to that game to boo them, you don’t want me there”, but they are still insistent.

    Pathetic franchise.

No, Helljumper, you’re wrong. They DO want you there. They don’t give a s*** if you boo them, they want and need butts in seats.

my guess is he comes back, but will he be in top form? they lean on him like bulls mj in the playoffs.

feel like guys tend to recover from acls nowadays, but it takes a full 18 months to get back to full strength.

wasn't his just a partial tear? he'll probably miss most of the season and come back for the last month or so

That’s what the slips are saying. They may be telling the truth, but this doc thinks it’s worse, based on what he saw on the play the injury occurred.

So the Clipps will be paying Kawhi big bucks to rehab all season, and they overpaid a contract year Reggie Jackson? Hate to see it.

the surgery/recovery for the partial tear may or may not be similar in severity (i'm not a doctor, but i play one on the internet).

still, being back to full form in 12 months would be unusual in any case.

i actually think they got off easy with reggie. he outperformed that contract and should have fetched more on the open market. teams only went nuts on their own FAs this year, for whatever reason.

maybe our mozdeng killed it for everyone.

I know some of you think of the Clips as rivals, but from the start, I really don’t know why this thread exists. They don’t deserve the respect of making a thread for them. Wouldn’t even bother to censor their name on LB like the C Bags.

They were never rivals in any way except in Balmer’s bribed media hype train.

I hope this thread gets buried on page 5 in a few months.

I get you, but I don’t think it’ll go away. The narrative is there, sweaty Ballmer’s not going away, and there are a lot of ‘anyone but the Lakers’ people out there. I know one, and he’s a slip fan of course. I don’t think it’ll go away, especially when they get their own arena (complete with their two Pacific Division Champion, and the lone We Made the Western Conference Finals banners).

But I would like to see this on Page 5 as well. Until then though, I’m gonna be coming back for more, even without Bev on that nasty squad.

It’s a handy place to enjoy any negative news about them. Still remembering to last season how they have been beating us in regular season for years with players we genuinely can’t stand, and all the crap and billboards after Snake and Paula joined them. Never want to see them win a ring and speaking just for me it is a happy feeling when I see a new post is there because chances are excellent it’s another bit of bad news or clowning for them. A punching bag thread which they and their owner have earned.

If I was Balmer I would have moved the team back to San Diego where they belong. Playing in Inglewood is worse then playing at the sports arena back in the day because that has always been the Lakers true home and everyone knows that LA only has room for the true king, the one and only Los Angeles Lakers. Billy Crystal and Penny Marshall are B-List celebrities too..

Since Flop City players love to puff out their chests even though they've accomplished nothing, clowning them is a fun time.

Clippers fans are not really Clippers fans. They are just fans that didn't want to be Lakers fans or hated the Lakers. That's it.
