If we sign Beverly, I will become a Mavs fan until he's gone.

Losing Eagle and signing Pat Bev in the same season would make my head explode.

Bev is an undersized defender who misses way to many games. That’s on top of everything else, so… pass. The Clips improved simply because his replacement will play more games.

Good deal for Josh. Being a RFA, didn't think there was a chance of him leaving.

wow, they bid against themselves to pay him over the MLE? i like josh, but i'm not sure about this one.

i would have tried a 4 year deal at lower money, more like AC got (and AC is better).

I like Smart. Nuisance to the other teams, plays hard on defense and has developed a decent offensive game. He can carry the team on certain nights and isn't afraid of the big stage. Definition of a great role player

interesting. smart's coming off what is his worst season since signing his last deal, i think. he's had trouble being useful enough on offense to justify his presence despite being a good (though maybe overrated) defender his whole career.

actually seems like a lot of cash. if boston cuts horford next summer, they're still on the hook for 14.5, so between him, brown, tatum, and smart, they're paying about 90 million. if they don't cut horford, they're basically capped out on 4 players for a fringe playoff team in the east, with basically zero developing prospects.

i guess i just wonder why they chose to pay smart now instead of just waiting until FA. have they decided that nobody's dumb enough to sign there? do they think smart being under a long-term contract makes him a more palatable trade piece (i'm not sure about that, but maybe...)?

    finally, dennis schroder be like:

And at only age 27, entering his prime window, it's a pretty decent move. You're right, it puts them in a bit of a pickle financially but he's good enough to be moved easily. I think at some point they try to package him with Brown and picks for one of the big fish.

wow, I like Josh, but almost 13M a year for a bench player who has shot terribly the last few years.

yikes, this is why the Pels are a losing franchise.
