if there was an understanding that there would be no hard feelings if he were to be cut in the event of an injury elsewhere, i'd consider IT as a last roster spot/second dudley type. he's got experience and heart and probably some wisdom.

but on the court, obviously not someone you can run out there for meaningful minutes at this point.

Really like I.T. but I wouldn't bring him on even if I was a cellar dweller.

I would seriously prefer LaMarcus Aldridge, age/heart condition and all, over IT.

would prefer no more old or done players. Last two spots need to go to youth.

IT? So I guess we’re throwing playing defense out the window this year.

IT would not enter the game with Vogel coaching.

IT would be interesting for situational matchups. When the ball doesn't go in and we're losing by 15/20 for example.

He can impact the game and sometimes is enough to change the game and influence the team positively

Wouldn't mind him, even with Dudz. As long as we really get a 4!!!

Ofc he wouldn't be part of the rotation unless he proves it

Seems we're looking for another perimeter guy who can score. After our current additions we've been linked to Oubre, Lou Will, and now IT. We're really platooning the guard rotation. I'd rather add Wes for D purposes, but seems we're going the opposite direction with the next signing.

    Here's Stein's full article...
IT could be a great feel good story. But to cover him defensively, I think you'd have to go with a lineup of Dwight/AD/Ariza/Baze/IT

If Russ is dialed in defensively, you can swap Baze out so just you have a better facilitator on the floor.

I have to reign in my high rolling nature and just say no to IT. We need to develop players that can stay on the court at both ends. i can't imagine IT would like to be used like a field goal kicker to make a shot of an inbound play and then be subbed out again. Last year we had a stale offense (thanks Scroteunger) but he is too much of a negative on the court. He has had an MVP level season, all star appearences and big games. Sure it ended sour, but it always does when your time is up as an elite athlete. I like IT, but I like Odom too, and he sure ain't coming back to the Lakers.

At his height they all his shots float but they he can't defend.

I've been against IT for a number of reasons, not the least of which is I jogged past him in Santa Monica once and I (5'10) was the taller of the two. But now? With this roster, I say why not? If there's an open roster spot, make it non-guaranteed like we did Dwight. If something better comes along, thanks for playing.

Edit: as others have noted, he'd just be a victory cigar anyway.

IT is a good guy and I feel sorry for the way he was treated in Boston but……no.

If we are getting a guard I would much rather resign Wes. But I really want another big.

Speaking of Odom, if he was playing in this era of NBA he would be a max player and so valuable to every team.

6’10”, strong rebounder, can play C/PF/SF/PH, able to bring the ball up and be a facilitator, can shoot the 3 ball and also drive to the basket.
