I think he’s saying we no longer have a package to acquire him after the Westbrook trade. Which is mostly accurate, considering nobody’s willing to sign Schröder for the amount he’d have to make in order for a S&T with shield matching salaries.

Second source on Dudz likely being back.

And obviously the other two would be min deals. Unless he meant that we weren't getting anything via S&T

could've used his defense but i wasn't really hoping he came back. his stint in LA left a bad taste in my mouth, despite the title

Ya, over the last 10 years, everyone caught on to the housing being low there and still within good distance of everything. The infrastructure is not built for this much activity. Plus, there is a lot of alcohol drinkers in the area and there are alot of accidents. Plus just plain stupid drivers.

I’d disagree with this take. He’s their leader and he’s showing he got their backs. Its a great rallying cry tbh, the 2020 “meme team” ran with something similar all the way to the championship (also the Kobe factor).

Alright smarty. Rob was hoping Buddy would demand a trade to the Lakers because of his shared Bahamian bond with Mychal Thompson.

I think having an older roster with vets is a necessary evil for the minimum contracts we had left. We have three all stars (with that being faint praise) though you can argue where they are relatively in their careers, we have a lot of talent.

Though it is a calculated gamble. If our roster was any older we would have unstretched Dung and put his primordial corpse a** back on the active roster. Our roster is a gambit that can only work with superstars and we have them.

The true test will be seeing if Rob can pass the baton and keep strength while looking for the successor to the Lebron AD (essentially this duo is our core and everything else orbits them and this model will continue with the right pairing for AD.). I am glad we kept THT, I will miss the Eagle, but he will be a fan favorite in perpetuity for those in LA who know. Also the Bulls will be my new favorite SIDE team.

In a funny side note, I got someone who was a Westbrook fan, and would never to cheer for the Lakers (she did not like Lebron) to become a Laker supporter since Westbrook is here. So we got another one for the bandwagon!

sometimes it's a favor to the players--it's possible svi asked for it to be rescinded.

if not, though, it's kinda crappy. you should have to decide on these things before the market opens. it's not like player options get to extend into the FA period.

Smart move on his part to lock up the years & money. Someone can learn from that.

Considering what they haven't done so far, these would be good gets for Dame (especially considering what's left on the market).

    some good bits:

    this is my current fear:

clips won big on the market drying up before anyone could make them uncomfortable on reggie, and now they're in the driver's seat for one of these guys. i was hoping they'd lose out.

it's like i wrote this part. los angeles pacers.

author also agrees with me that dallas is the logical spot, even if dallas doesn't agree.

i'd argue that having him sign for the min to a playoff rival is worse than facilitating a s&t to one.

    thank you.

he concludes that schroder probably just walks free somewhere, which i now expect, largely leaning on the caruso decision as evidence. the only thing that may make me think differently is that AC's deal was 4 years, which can be harder to move in trade, if that's what all this is about.
