Its been a good two days for us. Only hate losing Caruso but every signing has been on point. Its been interesting to see what Pelinka can do straight out of the gates of free agency instead of having to wait for the big names to decide.

    Yeah, this was amazing.

Most people who are not Lakers fans went from "What are the Lakers doing?" to "Lakers now deep AF!" very quickly.

From "Lakers too old" to "Lakers have Monk, THT, Nunn and AD now".

Yeah, I’ve loved the trajectory of the Reddit/social media comments on each of our signings. Yesterday was jokes about us being too old to now it’s “WTF, this isn’t fair, the NBA is rigged!”

We have injury proofed ourselves about as good as you could. An injury or two shouldn't send us to the playin round.

Thats likely because they pay attention to the slappies on TV or go over to the dip***** on LG and read those crybaby posts and it infects them.

Today was a better day. Great to see these value pickups by Rob - Monk, Nunn, Melo. Plus locking down THT!

Feeling very optimistic on the versatility of this team.

We can roll out a 40%+ 3pt shooter at each position right now (Nunn is 38% but I included him).

We have a much stronger bench with the signings of Nunn, Monk, Ariza, Melo and Dwight.

We are a legit 12 deep.

We have a lot of interesting players to throw defensively at any position. With a few proper good defenders and a good scheme.

We have the ability to go large or small.

We have an interesting mix of experience and youth.

    We have 3 superstars.

    underrated.

except for AD. ironically, the guy we're probably most concerned about physically is the guy whose skillset is not at all replicated in any way.

not that it's easy, but we doubled (quadrupled?) down on getting buckets and did little about preventing them.

There is no real getting around this. AD is who he is, a great two way player who is unfortunately very injury prone. And I don't see who was a possible option to provide some of the defensive versatility he provides?

I think having Dwight back is a great step. He can still anchor a defence well, as can Gasol. Ariza can hang with a few PFs and we'll ask more from Lebron. If we lose AD, we just have to adjust our scheme a bit and live with the results.

Imma call Rob and tell him to sign an AD clone for Vet Min. :Adlaughing:

But, I get your point. If we get anyone else, I hope it's a shot blocker / Rim protector. I would not be mad if we picked up Damian Jones again for AD insurance.

I’m down for Damian Jones. The guy was good for the limited time he was here. Of course if he ends up having to play big minutes, that’s a different story.

This is actually a really big under the radar type upgrade.
