Duncan Robinson is crazy overpaid....teams just won't learn. I guess thats normal and one has to get used to it. Lonzo getting 20+ and all these "rookies" getting max deals around 200 mio...its kind of insane. People were screaming when Paul signed that 4 year deal 3 years ago...now he signs another 4 year deal worth 120 Mio...last 2 years are going to be ugly but who gives a damn these days...Even Dinwiddie getting 20+ a year...
those big deals squeeze the market for the mid-tier players, making guys take vet mins that are probably worth substantially more, too. the duncan robinson thing confuses me because he's a specialist. he grades out as a poor defender, and he doesn't do much on offense other than hit threes. 18 million per is a lot for that. joe harris got 20, but he does more on offense (can attack on the dribble a bit, is actually a better shooter, statistically) and less of a minus on defense (though he was worse last year by some metrics). anyway, if you just lined up last year's numbers, ellington looks a lot like those two guys, and we got him for the minimum. with those savings, you can do things like retain alex car...
