curious to see how confident he is (and they are) after surgery. does he just sign the big full deal? or does he keep up with the shorter-term player-option deals that gamble on health?
Interesting risk. He’ll fleece them for maximum dollars, and they’ll gladly bend over and pay it. and later regret it (IMHO)
the clips basically have no choice--they're over the cap even if he leaves. but he was a big bad mammajamma with his 2-year, PO stuff. how vulnerable is he feeling? we saw AD just take all the guaranteed cash. and i think you're right on both counts, btw.
Yeah, good luck with that Clippers. He’s out the entire season no question, and then he’s even more damaged goods. I’m sorry, I know it’s the homer take, but he made one of the worst decisions for a legacy I’ve ever seen. First he rejected the Lakers, then he tied himself to Wayoff P. He could be working on a three-peat next season, having had to shoulder much less of the load next to LeBron and AD, but no, he’s ringless in LA and recovering from an awful injury. Nice job, snake, but hey at least uncle Dennis got his perks.
i think it's conceivable he comes back for the latter part of the season and playoffs, but carrying the load for four playoff series is probably not happening. and i agree with you, too, that he could have been part of a threepeat effort here that put him on basketball mt rushmore instead of a sort of interesting footnote.
it would actually be pretty amusing if Kawhi signed another 1+1 deal, get paid $37 mil to rehab for the entire year and then decline the player option and goes somewhere else once he’s healthy
I think Kawhi is pretty conservative with his health. I can easily see him sitting out the whole season even if he’s cleared to play.
wait ......... I thought he and Georgie Porgie were going to take over LA?? Right now, don't see them taking over Fresno.
this was 1st thing i thought bout after Russ trade....he's got some vengence in mind for the chihuahua n pandemic p
He's averaged 44 games per season the past 4 seasons. That would drop to 35 games per season over 5 seasons if he sits out all of next year, or even if he sits out half the season, he's dropping to the 30's per season for the last 5 seasons. Any GM paying max paper after that needs to be checked for brain damage.
If he did that then signed with the C Bags, only to load manage them into a horrible cap situation, I'd retire his jersey at Staples
I'll be shocked if Russ isn't tossed out in every game against the Tennants. Kawhi, Beverly, bring it on
He needed to call the Clippers so they don’t try to lock him in his house until he signs a contract with them.
