    I want to bump this thread to give credit to Jeannie. She is not a rich owner. This team is her wealth and the bill on this team will be huge. Props to her for spending the money when she could have just rode Lebron and AD for a few years after winning a title.

    She’s tough, she hung in there through the death of Jerry, the Jim chaos, if I remember right also when he and maybe one other sibling tried to take over the team, then when you had fans outside Staples “marching” and demanding she sell the team and through Magic’s crazy departure, as well as Kobe and Giana’s deaths. She came out on the other side though, aligned herself with a star in LeBron like the Lakers have always done, treat your stars right, and she’s got one title to show for it and hopefully more to come.

    Thanks for bumping this thread Savory. Jeanie has continued to prove that she is truly her father’s daughter and learned the lessons of Dr. Buss’s winning ways. She is the real deal: she’s smart, she’s business savvy and she has a ton of heart. She is in touch with the fans and in some ways is probably the biggest Lakers fan in the world just as her father was. She gets it.

    I am now bumping this to scold Jeanie for not being willing to keep Caruso because of what had to amount to a few extra million dollars. I originally bumped it because she seemed willing to pay more when she got Westbrook. Now it's looking like she plans on simply filling the team up with vet minimum guys.

    EDIT:I'll add, this was some small market s***.
