    He isn't great defensively.

    But I'd take him.

He could play a stretch 4 role.

Porter Jr. And his healthy worry me, but he's probably the best available wing we can get.

If we're looking to go cheap, Harkless may be it.

Final decisions on lineups are up to Vogel, so I am not sure! But I do know the priority for AD (and LeBron) next season will be using load management principles to try to limit injuries as much as possible. I believe I posted some details about this a while back before the training staff was let go.

Btw, I'm hearing from some folks close to Westbrook's camp that he's training hard for the upcoming season, very excited to be a Laker, and "determined as hell to get a ring!"

i dont doubt Westbrook work ethic but at his age i highly doubt he can train enough to be a good 3pt shooter and his ego will always get best of him when teams goat him into being a perimeter player

Man Rudy Gay would be a big deal! If we have a real shot at him, he's near the top of the wish list for me.

When it comes to shooters, I'd prefer a volume with a decent percentage player over strictly a higher percentage shooter. Ie Gasol, Caruso, and Kcp all shot 40 pct or better from three. Yet they only avg 4 makes a game combined. A guy like Hield matched that all by himself. Buddy may be out of play but I need to dig into these other guys on the market shot attempts.

i think it's hard because situations vary from team to team. take harkless, who oscillates from being a good to bad three point shooter depending upon year/system.

it's why i don't think it pays to just find guys who hit high percentages. reggie bullock shot poorly with us, then poorly with the knicks, then well the next season with the same organization but very different system/personnel.

this stuff all happens in context. would buddy hit more or fewer shots here? would he get as many? does the number of attempts impact his accuracy?

it's possible kcp won't be able to shoot threes elsewhere. he's been a better three point shooter with us than he was in det, where his shooting was billed as a weakness, iirc.

it's one thing to be a complete non-shooter or an outstanding shooter, but there's variability in between. need to find who can work here. to me, that means you're going to have to be moderately efficient on low attempts.

Yep and Kief totally lost confidence in his shot down the stretch, but he was pretty decent in the bubble. Wes went downhill too. With our luck a guy like Reddick would go cold frequently. Maybe McClemore can ramp up the accuracy a bit, he is definitely not shy about letting em fly.

Apparently our recently traded were surprised they weren't going to Cow Town

I imagine they had to be pleasantly surprised... at least the ones who actually end up in DC. Wiz are a much better team with an actual superstar. Kings are a mess.

    Speaking of the Kings...

Liked this better when it was thought he was going to ATL. I think Nate can handle him better in his locker room than Luke can in his.

Some thought LA was playing the RW/Wizards trade angle to put the screws to the Kings to take the 22nd pick out of the deal. Maybe it was the opposite and the intention was to make the Wizards think we were close to pulling the trigger elsewhere(s) with KCP, Trezz and Kuzma plus the 22nd? Does anyone think Hield was plan A and Westbrook plan B?

At first I would had said no way, but it makes me think now that we have Westbrook, wouldn't their 2 games be redundant, but with Westbrook having a better game. THT drove to the hole all the time, we have a guy Westbrook to take it to the hole. I want THT game to develop, he needs to shoot from outside more, change his game from last season, or we could have to physical battering ram type guards driving to the hole all the time. I might be open to a THT deal for the right pieces, because this team window is short for a championship or 2.

Maybe for some in the organization. But it's clear that Bron (and AD to a lesser extent) were big game hunting. I don't think any deal would've happened without their stamp and I think Bron's picks were Washington, then SA, and then if neither materialized then he'd be OK with the Kings trade. But the fact that Bron and AD had a sit down with Russ weeks ago makes me believe this has been their preferred pick for awhile.

I don't move THT unless it was for a big piece and that can't happen with the assets left.

I think he can learn a lot from Westbrook and get even more efficient in his drives. He can learn how to have counters to his move and not predetermine his moves quite as much.

On top of that even Westbrook sits we can run a lot of the same actions because they can play a similar role.
