    Trade #2 (August 2nd?): Shroader (18 million), KCP, Gasol, McKinnie, and #22 for Westbrook

    I’m assuming Westbrook’s salary would raise our salary so much that hard cap would no longer be viable? Wonder what that would mean for the rest of the roster construction.

    WTF kind of move is this: Westbrook is about the worst fit you can get for AD/LEbron in the halfcourt.

    It's like when Houston just threw Barkely in their with Hakeem and Drexler and hoped it would work

    As far as I know deal is done, just hashing out particulars. Call yet to be scheduled with league office, but Pelinka didn't have much patience for negotiation tactics that Kings FO were employing. In the words of one individual, "very amateur"...

    And the Lakers lose their best shooter in KCP? Really don't know about this - basketball is more then just getting star players it's how they fit and the Lakers best shooters now are Lebron and AD?
    It's a great value trade as Westbrook is way better then the assets they're giving up for him; but's he's a bad fit, gets hurt all the time, and is so expensive

    I hope they have the money to keep THT and AC.

    Hield was the preference of Lakers FO, so the only long shot I could see saving the deal is them calling Pelinka immediately and lowering their ask further, possibly offering #39 for #22 instead of a straight trade.

    It also doesn't hard cap us. But man, where's our depth going to come from. We would have a roster of:

    Westbrook
    Lebron
    AD
    Caruso
    THT
    McKinnie
    Gasol

    We are going to have ZERO depth.

    I know we like to clown on Bobby Marks, but apparently this would apply for any deal with Kuz. Nothing can be made official until August 6th (although, teams can definitely still agree to terms before then. IIRC, the AD trade was basically agreed upon like over a month before it was able to be made official).
