if kawhi/uncle dennis/his posse is truly in control, doing things their way, and he is still plagued by injuries, what other situation will work better for him? i don't see other organizations putting up with him considering how things played out over the past 2 seasons.

It doesn't, but I think Riley is desperate for one more ring and will sell his soul for a Butler - Kawhi - Bam trio.

i don't see why kawhi would leave

clippers would've won it all had he not gone down. if they dump beverley and bring back guys like batum, jackson, and ibaka they'll pretty much have the same roster going into next season and be one of the top teams in the west

Kawhi is a home body. He isn't leaving. Clippers are a good team. They are one player and heathly Kawhi away from winning it all. You run it back until the wheels fall off.

Well, I think there might be a few teams this season that could say that judging by who is left. If everyone is healthy and at full strength, I don't think the Clippers win it all. Lakers, Nets and maybe even the Nuggets might be better. But I totally agree. Kawhi isn't going to leave. Miami is the only viable option to get a team that's as competitive as the Clippers. That'd be an interesting team, especially if Hero can bounce back.

I also don't think the Clippers would have won it all if the were healthy. You can say there were teams like the Lakers, Nets, and Denver, if healthy too, would have been huge road blocks to the Clippers first Championship. And it is not so easy to just "Run it back". I am just glade we aren't involved in the Kahwi drama.

As I've said, he makes too much for my comfort level. We do have a working relationship with OKC, though.

After looking at it, Clipps could get their fairly easily if they wanted. Morris, Bev, and Rondo get it done. OKC would want some pick compensation out of it, but that's enough $ to make it work

Picks? OKC hates picks. They would never take picks.

nah, kawhi was leaving toronto as soon as he could. it was no secret he wanted to play in LA ever since he was in SA

yeah, if the lakers nets and nuggets were healthy it would've been a much different story. but as things currently stand, i have no doubt the clips would've won it all with a healthy kawhi. they would've been facing a hobbled bucks or hawks team in the finals and neither would stand a chance

i actually wonder how much teams really want to do this after seeing the last couple of years. kawhi is great when he's available, but how much can you trust that? dallas has been burned by porzingis in this regard already.

    agree with all this.

S&T schroder on a huge salary (30 million?!) with only the first year guaranteed. schroder saves face and make some quick cash, returns to okc where he was good to re-boost his value, hits FA again next year.

it's not my first hope at all. but for the "third star or bust" crew, i think he fits the bill: can create shots for himself and others, consistently puts up 20ppg as a focal point of the offense.

he gets hurt a lot and is a minus defender, so obviously not super great. but i like that his contract is short and large. if he doesn't work out next year, he's a huge expiring the following year, which can facilitate other moves. i probably prefer this to a similar deal for westbrook.

.22 Caliber, not the .45 Caliber they probably expect to get.
