THJ is madly inconsistent. With our jinx, would shoot 32% in the year

If it was Brunson I would do it

mavs and lakers have lots of ways to help each other, imo.

lakers could use thj, mavs could use schroder, lakers could use one of powell/kleber, mavs might make better use of kuz.

there's not a sensible/possible/obvious trade, but these are teams that should be talking.

Lateral moves. Lakers need a 3rd star. There is no other way.

The big question is who is that third star and how do we get him here? Obviously it’s got to be by trade or sign and trade.

I liked the rumors about Westbrook for Kuz, KCP, Trez and picks. But haven’t heard anything about it for a week now.

Not a clue. Any star will work. Westbrook would work with Lebron. Anyone who is a legit star so that Lebron plays 28 min a game next year and AD better get his a** in Shaq 2000 shape. They have at least one more year to win it all with Lebron in his extended prime.

i'm a firm no on westbrook, pretty much at any price. not sure what the argument is for him other than he used to be a star?

Russell Westbrook IS a star. He average 22-11-11.

Get him if he is there. He would be the perfect 3. I mean, perfect. And it's a realistic star the Lakers could get.

I can't agree with this. Russell puts up those numbers by having the ball in his hands...like, a lot. It's why it was a disaster with Harden. Beal was OK since Beal can play off ball. But a third star isn't worth much if he becomes a role player in crunch time since Lebron will have the ball in his hands 90% of the time.

The third "star" I want is Myles Turner. He isn't the same level of star as Westbrook, but his fit is about as perfect as you can get. A stretch 5 that you can actually play next to AD in crunch time? And AD and Turner in the paint would essentially force every team to shoot at least 15 feet from the basket on every possession.

Exactly. Less wear and tear on lebron. Let Westbrook get his triple doubles all regular season and let lebron be fresh for the playoffs. Perfect.

Myles Turner won't be a difference maker. Lakers need offense. Also, Pritchard would rather slit his throat then do anything for the Lakers.

    Go get Westbrook.

You are right. Westbrook would be great for the regular season.

But then we hit the playoffs and crash and burn. Remember how Westbrook did against us in the playoff series with the Rockets? He sucked. Because Harden dominated the ball. Savory is right. He has to have the ball in his hands every possession. He has no clue how to play off the ball. He is maybe the worst spot up shooter in NBA history. So, playoffs come, and I want the ball in LeBron's hands. That makes Westbrook a 200 million dollar useless role player.

Lebron can play off the ball 5-10 min a game and Westbrook can play 25 min with the ball when lebron is on the bench.

Lebron has to be in Tim Duncan minutes restriction in 2014. 27-29 min a game. No more 40 min in a game during the season. Not even 35 min. Save lebron for the playoffs and even if Westbrook loses some steam, AD and Lebron can manage that because they are fresher.

Remember, realistic chance of getting a 3rd star. Westbrook might be the only one with the little assets we have. If we had a shot at someone else, cool, but I think this might be the most realistic one. And he is an LA kid so there is some advantage there too.

I wonder if Rob will sign Howard in the offseason. I would take him back. He attended the Atlanta Hawks game and Philly fans are pissed. Since they just knocked the Sixers out.

I was looking on LG last night at their Drummond thread and it was similar split opinions on him, but certainly not for too much money. Many there felt he’s carrying way too much weight for a guy his size in his “prime” and put up a link of where he was at athletically coming out of college. It was shocking how much he’s lost in that regard. Under the legs flying dunks and rapid jumps repetitively for rebounds and skying high for blocks above the rim. So yeah, Drummond is FAT. If we’re going to harp on Gasol, who’s 36 and NOT in the prime years of his career.

schroder for josh richardson, brunson, and cauley-stein.

mavs probably say no, but it's wise to see if new management values players differently (last regime wouldn't give up brunson, imo).
