the lack of shooting criticism against Ben has been there since high school and here we are with him on his max contract with no shooting ability to speak off... Lebron isnt god, he cant help Ben learn to shoot, if he hasnt gotten a shot by now he never will

And when will you use this same sentiment with THT? THT has had shooting problems since high school as well. How many more years you gonna give THT? by next year?

i give him 3yrs in the league and theres a difference, ThT at least attempts to shoot it even with poor %, Ben doesnt even attempt ANY perimiter shots

i think the point in THT's favor is that he'll at least take shots and occasionally make one. simmons is 5-34 from three for his career. THT made 37 threes this year. so yes, both are shooting liabilities, but i don't think it's the same.

and ben's had a green light, according to his team, right? he just really doesn't want to do it.

Steph, Dame, Booker, Murray, Mitchell, George,...there is some elite backcourt talent in the West. I'm just intrigued with the idea of a kid with his defensive talent, playing with a chip on his shoulder from being traded, out on on our perimeter taking on these guys straight up, with AD covering his back. We'd still have Caruso and Tucker, possibly bring back Howard and Green at the minimum. We could win another chip or two with that squad.

The problem with how the Sixers was constructed is that Ben was the primary ballhandler. No one else on the Sixers could run the point when Ben was out which is why the Sixers struggled without Ben and with Ben. Ben would be the secondary playmaker with Bron there. There would be less attention on Ben. Theoretically speaking, you could give up Kuzma+Schroder+whatever future pick the Lakers may have for Ben. What are we losing on Kuzma? And some don't even what Schroder. It's not like the Lakers are giving up insane value. If the Lakers can surround the team with shooters, taking Ben would make sense. And that defense with: KCP, Bron, AD, Ben, and let's say another 3/D player would be unstoppable.

I truly think that Klutch connection could boost Ben's confidence. He probably will never be good at spacing the floor but it doesn't make him a useless player. He can still benefit a team.

    Confidence can be rebuilt,
Shooting isn't everything, his career averages are 16 points 8 assists and 8 rebounds, 56 pct from the field and 60 pt FT. It's not like he is a single digit career scorer. He most definitely can be salvaged confidence wise IMO.

It is not about his shooting here. It is about being a facilitator and his defense for the Lakers.

He brought up Lavine's upcoming contract extension, a change of scenery for Ben, paired with a big can space the floor with his shot and also allows Ben space to operate near the rim.

we have Lebron for that and 2ndly hes unplayable in close gm situation, we're already one of the worse rated offense in the league and bottom end of 3pt shooting and we want to add a max guy who cant do anything on offsense besides dunk and pass, no body respects his shot might as well keep ad at the 3pt line to chuck 3s since paint probably gona be clogged with Ben defender giving him 5ft of space lol

They will still be fighting for the 8th spot with Washington with that duo next season.

Lebron is 37 years old and not getting any younger. He cannot continue being the priimary pg. I value passing and defense being more important then my pg making 3s. He had a bad postseason, but he is young and an All-star. I don't need my PG to be an elite 3 point shooter. We can get others for that. He would take over full time after LBJ is gone.

Might as well just go after Lonzo again. Same basic issues, but at least he can make free throws and threes at a decent clip. Simmons can’t shoot to the point that he hides in the offense late in game because he’s afraid to get fouled and go to the line. It’s really bad at this point, truly holding him back from taking the next step, if he just had a shot he’d be pretty unstoppable.

we had a barely passable 3pt shooting pg and offense was crap, imagine adding one that cant shoot to save his life lol...all the team remaining in playoffs are in the upper tier on offense and 3pt shooting, Id take Seth Curry from phi over Ben any day of the weak
