NBA players don't respect Harden. That's why he always gets picked near last in the ASG. Giannis and Bron didn't even want to pick him...

I have a feeling if McDermott signs for anything more than vet minimum, we will all be very angry by mid season when he suddenly can’t make a open 3 to save his life and can’t defend a 80 year old in a wheel chair trying to get past him in the grocery aisle.

Thank you! Adam Silver needs to really get rid of this garbage asap. Please get rid of the stupid flagrant foul BS and the reviews. Let the guys play and get crazy. This is an emotional game. Let them scuffle a little.

the problem is that taking care of this probably requires relying more on subjective opinion of the officials, which is something the nba has tried to get away from (for good reason, given some of the officiating atrocities in the past).

but weird adherence to interpretations of written rules led to the sidestep/stepback threes (that are travels--if you're in the paint and take a step that ends in a full two-footed simultaneous jump, that whistle will blow) becoming legalized, so just taking the guesswork out hasn't always worked out so well. the jokic ejection is another good example. was it excessive force? yes. was their contact to the face? yes. but anyone with eyes could see it was a frustration swipe at the ball and not an attempt to punch a face. we guys literally run under airborne players (hello shane battier's entire career) and not even get a flagrant one.

so yes, i agree, highly unlikely they do anything. they've had years to make harden not a thing and they kept making him more of a thing. and harden got away with some of it for the same reason wade did: he's super strong, so initiating contact might still work for him even if the refs don't buy it. but trae young is depending solely on that whistle blowing. imagine if steve nash got these calls in his prime. he was bigger than young and better at literally everything.

I'm in the school of thought where if you were going to draw a foul on me and nothing I can do about it even if I played disciplined defense...then I might as well whack the crap out of you.

Agreed. I mean, Harden just sticks himself in places where you can't not touch him.

nothing was funnier than artest trying to argue to the ref that he was just celebrating his basket and accidentally elbowed harden

well, and in this case, maybe he could have been more careful about who he's around. it's your one chance at a title before your legs fall off. everyone's injured but your team. and you're taking risks?

Even back then he was a punk. I still don’t understand why he’s so popular with other players.
