If we somehow snagged Turner, that instantly makes Drummond unnecessary. Turner and anyone who can make a consistent 3 on the wing and I'm good. Bring back everyone else.

said this a few weeks back. he'd be my first call for guard help. like getting a more point-guardy version of the eagle, in some ways. would be a big fan of the pick up, much better fit than schroder. he should get the MLE, and see if we can s&t schroder for a center.

:SadPau2: …. again who’s doing the “expecting” and where’s that info coming from? Not a bad idea of course.

I wonder what the story with his 3point shot is?

He had one full year when he shot .435 which is excellent. The last three years his 3 ball regressed to .333 / .294 / .313.

My guess: the report was leaked by his agent in order to alert other teams to make an offer. Maybe Rob had put out an initial feeler. But it would not be in Rob's best interest to leak that he was interested.

my guess: he's not much of a three point shooter, and the one season was maybe the result of teams completely ignoring him from sweet spots due to poor scouting or something? he wasn't much of a shooter in college. he's just a winner, imo. tough, smart. kind of guy who can shine next to stars but would disappoint as someone you expect to carry a scoring load or something. him/ac/kcp/tht/wes is a very good guard corps to complement lebron/AD, imo. add a WCS type to back up marc and turn kuz/schroder into wing depth, and you're set.

I'm fine with this but really would prefer the Lakers to target another big wing/tweener who can score. With AD at the 5 in the playoffs, not being able to trust Morris or Kuzma to hit a 3 or be an offensive threat is a bigger concern. Doesn't have to be a Kyle Korver but someone you cna't leave open or score in other ways would really help against great defensive teams like the Suns.

Cavs are interested in THT and Caruso. What do you guys think about a trade for Sexton via S&T? Not a fan of Sexton but at least he can get his own shot and maybe playing with a different franchise can help him develop his game. To sweeten the deal, Lakers can offer Kuz for Prince?

suns were dead in the water if AD doesn't go down. dead.

    my ox: no.

let's not import more guys from cleveland who put up numbers in ways that help nobody win games. there's a reason they have their stat-stuffing lotto pick and are eyeing our undrafted FA and second rounder. we killed them in scouting.

hope siakam's injury makes toronto think harder about moving him to us. i think they're smarter than that, but who knows...

Sexton has really become a tough cover: he's Jordan Clarkson. I would do the move as this would solve the Lakers offense and shooting issues but defense would be a concern. He's not big and he plays small.

Honestly don't like him as player archetype but he's put in a lot of hard work.

Front office is very busy but quiet. No breaks, Rob Pelinka, Frank Vogel, and Kurt Rambis talking daily! I hear from folks outside the organization who have had meetings, there's been a new cell phone policy trying to keep leaks to a minimum as well. Anything you hear is likely intentional or from the player/agent side! Pay attention to who is reporting as well (Shams Charnia has direct line to Pelinka!)

    Caruso will likely stay!

Have not heard much about McConnell, but makes sense to me!

Still internal back and forth on Kyle Kuzma and others.

Pelinka still trying to get a read on Rose without blatant tampering.

    Good luck to all!!!

I just really want Myles Turner. If we can walk into next season with Turner/AD/Lebron/Caruso as 4 of our 5 starters, I really don't care much about the rest of the team. It's been a successful offseason. I like the McConnell rumor. Solid player who could probably team up to form the ultimate "role player/glue guy" backcourt.
Sexton isn't what we need at all. Caruso is much more valuable to this team than Sexton. Schroder kind of showed what an above average guard who can make his own shot provides for our team...not much. We need defenders and 3-point shooters. Caruso is 1 1/2 of that already and I have confidence he can make himself into a legit 3 n D player.

i really think that if schroder would have been a 6th man that played most of his minutes without lebron (and with AD), we'd have been in better shape. we could use a bench guard who can score and handle. and honestly, maybe with another offseason, THT is that guy.

i certainly wouldn't give up THT or caruso to add a sexton type, though.

Agreed. But as you said, not at the expense of Caruso or Sexton.

Harkless is coming off a bad year.

A couple of years ago he was good with the Clips.

Might be worth a look for the min.

Has some decent size to defend wings.
