Lakers have the 22nd pick in the draft. Excellent track record of scouting. Who do you like as a solid young rotation player to develop?
i posted in the old thread a few buzzy names that might be available at that pick, but the lakers really haven't gone that route historically. in any case, it's an asset one way or the other. i'm guessing first order of business is to use it as trade sweetener, but i kinda like the idea of our scouts getting another shot at it before we never own another pick again.
Someone who can 3/D, preferably. That way we can get them on the cheap and it fills a void that we have.
i never heard of vrenz bleijenburgh, nor have i investigated anything about him whatsoever but i know that we must have him.
i dont have much college bball knowledge but I really like Baylor Pg Mitchell, defensive minded and fast pg, solid offense, shooting and driving
I’m probably biased as a UCLA guy who otherwise doesn’t follow NCAA very much, but I still maintain that Johnny Juzang was the most impressive player to me in the NCAA tournament. UCLA’s entire offense was pretty much predicated on “Give Juzang the ball and let him create a shot for himself”. The opposing defenses knew it and threw a lot of double teams at him, but he still mostly had his way with them. Also showed some big clutch factor and just generally has a pure shooting stroke. Saw a few mock drafts with him in the mid-20’s but others in the second round. Would he be a reach at 22? In general, I do want to keep the pick. Maybe a trade comes up where throwing in the pick makes the difference in getting a quality veteran, but if we can get another first round gem locked up on a rookie deal? I think that ends up having a LOT more value, maybe even in a mid-season trade. Also, I hate to say it... we do need to somewhat start looking towards the post-Lebron era.
yeah, i barely watch college anymore, but he stood out to me in a couple games. seems like someone we'd have interest in.
Juzang was FIRE in the tournament and the Final Four. I'd take him. He was not at all afraid of the big moment and the kid can shoot.
I'm with abeer. We must have him. I'm also with abeer in that I have no idea who he is, what position he plays, where he is from, or if he actually exists as opposed to it being that guy's cat running across his keyboard as he was tweeting.
If the Lakers take Juzang at 22, someone should be fired. Juzang is very streaky and a huge liability on defense. He needs another year of CB. I Watched UCLA all year.
