I'm more upset at the refs for letting him get away with ALLLLL of it CONSTANTLY. D Wade--okay I understand why the league wanted to coddle him. But Crowder? Wtf??? And where the F are the playoff suspensions? "His team needs him!" F that; might as well flagrant foul all playoffs long en route to a championship, and then serve all your suspensions at the meaningless start of next season.
if the game is out of reach in the elimination game and phoenix is winning, i wish vogel would put in dudley to recreate bynum's elbow to barea from a decade ago on crowder
Role players need to step up big time and make some freaking shots. We will miss AD’s defense but we’ve played for long stretches without him and been good on D. Davis’s shooting numbers this series haven’t been good. He’s shooting .403 from 2 and a pathetic .183 from 3. Below are the numbers from some of our guys. Every team has players that go cold for a game but other players pick up the slack. Our guys are not doing that. We are shooting .291% from 3 as a team. Shooting % from 2 and from 3 AC .407/.308 Marc .636/ .600 Kuz .241/ .188 Wes .313/ .286 KCP .235/ .077 Mac .500 but has only taken 4 shots Trez .800 but on only 5 attempts I know people say Marc doesn’t shoot a lot but that .600% is on 10 attempts. For reference AC has taken 13, Kuz has taken 16, Wes 14, KCP 17 so far this series.
Even without AD we still have the talent to beat the Suns if everyone plays the way we know the can. I just don't see it happening. It was going to be a tall order with AD to win a championship due to us having zero chemistry or momentum built up entering the playoffs. We could have gotten by Phoenix using brute force, but when we start getting to teams like Denver, Clips or Jazz, our lack of continuity within our lineup was going to show up. This wasnt our year. We went from great fortune last season to terrible fortune this season.
According to the Athletic, which I don’t have a subscription to, the Lakers have an interesting and encouraging set of +/- stats for this series: In the 101 minutes with Bron and AD both on the floor: +21 In the 37 minutes with AD in and Bron sitting: -30 In the 50 minutes with Bron in and AD sitting: +16 Link: https://theathletic.com/2624692/202...-5-the-minutes-lebron-james-is-off-the-floor/
Not sure it's possible to dislike CP3, Booker or Crowder any more than I do. Hard to believe Paul is the President of the Player's Assoc when every Team he goes to ends up being the biggest flopping & dirty Team in the League...
Couldn't agree more. Injuries have been the story of this entire season. But the abysmal shooting percentages have been just as, if not even more important a factor in the playoffs so far. I don't expect the Lakers to be anywhere near the top of the league, but our players are capable of average shooting percentages, which would be more than enough to mop the floor with the damn suns. My optimism - this slump has lasted pretty long already, they have to get out of it eventually. If they can do that during this first round and then maintain the hot streak for a few weeks, we can still achieve some great things. I will not give up hope as long as there is a chance of Bron and AD playing.
I don't get how he and Bron are so close. I get the Melo/Bron, I get the Wade/Bron (teammates), I don't get the CP3/Bron relationship. I could get understand a Wade/CP3 friendship because they both spent the bulk of their career torpedoing their bodies to the ground in search of a whistle. I know where they got close, repping Team USA and I recognize that CP3 is a great player and should have been a Laker. BUT I hate him and don't get why Bron surrounds himself with a brother who's tried to hurt him 2x.
My guess is that LeBron views it like Kobe did when Wade broke his nose in the All Star game; respect for doing whatever it takes to win kind of thing. But I'm with you. One of my friends cheap shots me twice and he's not my friend after the second one.
My Pops and I just had this same conversation this weekend. One thing I see in Bron is the dude knows how to abide (insert Dude meme here). But he’ll store it and maybe even let it ferment for when he’s truly pissed, and will get Jordan personal on whichever m-frs piss him off.
CP3 probably gets a lot of sympathy for the various injuries he has had in the playoffs. But with that being said, I totally agree. He is a dirty player, and has a poor/condescending attitude to go with it. The only way to like CP3 is if he is playing for one's own team (well until he gets injured and/or goes missing in the big moments).
