If I had to pick between gas chamber (Clips) and electric chair (Nets) I would vote to end the death penalty.

Kawhi took a lot of crap these last few years due to the load management, but he's injury-prone and always been healthy in the playoffs last 3 years.

had we done the same with Bron and AD and we wouldn't be in this situation.

it's a long a** season, Bron used to be a machine but he's going on 37, and AD is Mr. Glass, so of course we should have load managed.

i don't think either guy goes for it. plus, both got hurt.

and we'll see if kawhi makes it all the way through the playoffs. we're only halfway through round 1.

We lost 2 games where we held the Suns to 99 and 100 pts .

Terrible open shots bricking and offense

Injuries aside, if we shot a reasonable clip on open shots, we’d be relaxing waiting for our second round opponent, wishing AD a speedy recovery.

The whole team is out of sync offensively because of guys being in and out of the lineup due to health or injury.

I still think Schroder should be coming off the bench. Lebron can't work with a poor shooter like him

our weird commitment to starting schroder and drummond will be something we look back on befuddled, imo.

once schroder didn't sign his extension, we should have been free to tinker with our guard rotation. and drummond should never have been guaranteed a starting spot to join. was bad in terms of both strategy and chemistry.

Schroder just seems like the signing that looked solid on paper but hasn't gone as well as hoped for a number of reasons. Drummond strikes me as a guy who really needed to be with us from minute one for the staff to coach him up and really figure out how to integrate him on both ends.

At this point, all bets should be off and Vogel needs to run with whatever line up gives us the best chance to win. Even if he is being "nudged" to start them, they shouldn't have a ton of rope out there.

Half agree. I was never in support of giving DS the keys upon arrival for no reason. I think it took away one of the main reasons he was brought here-- dominate with Trezz. Could've been the best 6th and 7th man duo in the league. After we couldn't move him for Lowry and our starters were back, he should've went to the pine for AC.

With Drummond, regardless of the fit and Marc, we were trying to fit a season's work of camp, (limited) practice, and in game short hand chemistry into a matter of weeks. When you add a big you're going to give that role to, you almost have to do it that way. Another big factor with Drumm is the Bron/AD piece. They wanted him here and he's pretty close with AD. Appeasing your superstars is why we have a ring. It's the price you pay. Sometimes it's a KCP deal and sometimes it's bringing in and starting Drummond. The good outweighs the bad and it comes with the territory.

I did want Dennis, but almost strictly as a bench scoring guard, to make plays when Bron is on the bench and play PnR with Trez.

Didn't happen. Although I still think this was by far the best way of using him, while you either start Caruso with Bron because of their awesome chemistry, or go with Bron as a pure PG, with KCP & Wes spreading the floor. That way, Wes (who is a very good veteran player) would play decent minutes and contributing majorly to our success.

Drummond would be a fine signing if he joined the team at the beginning of the season - or this offseason. It's very difficult to integrate that kind of player in limited games, with half of your team injured. AD and Bron wanted him here and who am I to question them. I do think it's sort of an awkward fit, but he's not bad at all if he just had more time to practice with the guys and work on his D. If we sign him, I'll support him for sure. He can be incredibly useful, and we'd be breaking all kinds of rebounding and second chance points records with him on the team.

I can't really complain about any of our players, I think they did alright under the circumstances. The injuries just killed us this season.

My complaint: if either KCP or Kuz had just shot 30% from three this series would already be over in a 4-0 sweep.

I’m 50/50. Either very bad, or it’s a vintage Lebron performance for the win.

yeah, unless lebron puts up 40+ or the rest of the team shoots the lights out, i don't see this ending in a W

i've come to terms with the fact that this just isn't our season. for a team to go all the way, everything needs to go right and it's been the opposite of that

It’s not just Bron. We need to hit 13-14 3s to help him. KCP needs a few, Kuz, Marc, Wes, AC, and Kief. They need to help Bron by hitting shots and playing great energy defense. Drum needs to just put in lobs and dunks.

I’m struggling to envision how Rob could pull a rabbit out of his hat to fix some of the fundamental flaws in our roster construction. It’s always going to be healthy Bron/AD or bust.

I don’t know who, but we have to have a PG that can shoot next to LeBron, and that isn’t Schröder. Hell, even Mo Williams was successful next to LeBron because he could hit open shots. But yes how we fix this roster as a whole is a huge question, Rob has a tough job. Friggin Drummond is not part of that answer either, god be sucks and has no BBIQ. Dwight isn’t the long term solution either, dude is going to be 36 next season, we have to find younger, more skilled players like the rest of the league, so many interchangeable pieces because they’re all long and can shoot. Trez doesn’t fit that either.

you are right, this was a good roster on paper looking only at the individuals but never fit together on the court.

we spent most of our available cap on Trez and Dennis that although they are good players, they are not a good fit with Lebron and AD.
