Agreed. Best path for us - Denver, Suns, Clips/Jazz.

Hope the Clips have to play Portland then Utah.

Denver is still good, but without Murray, things will get tough for them in the 4th quarter when everything tightens up. And we have 3 guys to throw at Joker. Will be tough on him over a series.

I agree. I mean, I want to play the Clips eventually, just not in the first round, and I'm sure they think the same about the Lakers. If you're an NBA fan, you don't want to see one of those teams eliminated right away. WCF would be great, everyone would be excited to see that.

Well, as a laker fan, the Clippers getting eliminated in the first round won't bother me.

Sure, but I think the rest of the NBA fans would probably prefer to see those teams play as many games as possible before being eliminated. I'm not sure they are as excited about watching the Jazz, but hey... I might be wrong.

I want Lebron and AD at or close to their best and for Vogel to have figuring the lineups out when facing the Clippers . ( only team in the West which can seriously bother us)

Unlikely both of these things will happen in round 1 .

Plus as Abeer3 previously said , you want to play Kawhi as late as possible ...

LOL Lonzo’s been ducking the Lakers ever since last season when the Eagle blocked his dunk above the rim and dropped him flat on his back from 8 feet up. Damn near ended him.

Looking at our schedule vs Dallas’ and Portland’s, I think we have a great chance of at least falling to 6th seed, with Dallas taking 5 and Portland falling into play-in hell. Muhahahaha.

You know how when a player gets traded from the Lakers, we move their thread to NBA Discussion because it no longer applies to us?

Maybe it’s time to do the same for this Optimism thread?

i like it. basically zero expectations. i think top-to-bottom no one took the last two opponents seriously. i'll be surprised if we aren't competitive in most of these games.

That’s my hope. I feel like mentally the team hit bottom last night and knows they gotta get it together. I expect a much better effort in the remaining games.

yeah, we'll see. can't explain it. i was worried by the quotes from kuz and kieff when lebron and AD were out--implying that things would just crank up. lebron returns against two terrible teams, and we collectively cough up a hairball. if we lose these next five, it will be because we were out-talented, imo. none of this malaise about which people have been complaining.

Nice win tonight. Kids were not consistent but they were fantastic during short spurts

Kuz 1st half D on Porter and a big 3

AC couple of big catch and shoot 3s

THT too many TOs but solid in 4th Q.

I hope we face Denver first round we match up very well with them.

3 point shooting was big and AD's defense looked very good

Looking ahead. I would prefer we go all in and get the win in LA vs the Clippers.

Lillard has our number especially at POR I would chalk that as a loss (Heck historically in the Kobe/Shaq and Kobe/Pau days we rarely won up in the Rose garden).

Go for the win Thursday and put some doubt into the tenants heads.

I bet if I looked up our record in Portland over the last 20 years, it would likely be the same as everywhere else, but it just feels like we also get our butts kicked up there.
