We lucked out, we have had some time to figure things out, there problems are fresh. Two weeks from now, we might lose this game.

    Since Bron injury :

    - Lakers 7-8 record
    - Blazers 7-8 record
    - Mavs 9-7 record

They can't capitalize . Looks like we will avoid the 7th spot and play in tournament .

Sticking to the 5th spot would be great . Nuggets without Murray and the Jazz in the WCSF

Lets see if we can steal one more from the Jazz tonight. They're probably gonna have Gobert and Conley

In that case, probably not. But you never know... they might hit only 17 of 65 attempted threes today.

What is going on? All on the schedule??

    Bron and Ad been out.
    KL out - foot
    Ibaka out
    Dame out
    KD out again
    Harden out
    Mitchell
    Murray

I know.... Ibaka...lol. This late in the season to have that many stars out. Ugh.

I would say yes, most of those players played in the playoffs in the bubble, some well into those playoffs. It was a mistake to play this many games, should have been like between 50-60 at the most. For example today is the first time I can remember of the top of my head that we had 2 days off between games. We might have recently, but I can’t recall, it’s usually every other day right on schedule, and that’s not good. We all saw how AD looked in the games he did play this season, he was not ready to go after such a short break, the only optimistic thing I can say is he should be close to 100% when he returns shortly.

I see we haven't been optimistic since Wednesday. :p

But on a serious note, at this time, we'll have some good games, and we'll have some bad ones. Chemistry and playing with a nice flow gives us the best chance of winning. Too often we are out of sync and just jack up long jumpers in hopes of getting bailed out. With LeBron out, we simply don't have a floor general right now to rally everyone. I see it in Caruso but he's nowhere near as talented as LeBron. AD is a superstar, but there really is no one like LeBron who can affect a whole team simply with his presence.

As tough as some of these losses are, all we can do is be patient until we are finally back at full strength. Let's face it, a number of these guys are not the most talented... until they play alongside Bron and AD. I see this all the time in basketball leagues, schools, gym tournaments, etc.--guys who can't do much on their own, but flourish when hiding behind superstars since all the attention is taken away from them. Only reason why we have them--to complement Bron and AD.

I do worry that it tends to be difficult for teams to win it all who've been battling injuries all year, even when they're at "full strength." But then again this is Bron and AD--two of the most relentless stars of the game, so I'm just hoping the magic returns as if it never left, and we can come back to dominating again and winning our second title in two years.

    GO LAKESHOW.

i'm optimistic that the lakers will play better ball in the playoffs, and that they continue to play really good defense in the absence of their stars. i do think this year is a bit of a lost year, but i'm buoyed by the title last year and the thought that we should be able to compete at a really high level for the foreseeable future.

Games against the Magic and Queens who are both out of playoff contention. We have a great opportunity to go 2-0 before Lebron returns

yeah, really need to focus on these two. slim margin for error to avoid the play-in. get the ones you should: those teams don't really want to win that badly, so make it no fun from the tip if possible.

There is also the Wiz on Wednesday. We need to win that one too. Would like to have a three game win streak. But Washington is on a bit of a roll right now.

lol, funny that after saying i want to avoid the play in, i look at the top two seeds vs. the 3rd, and i'm like...do i need to avoid the play-in that badly.

if i can't get that 5 seed, i'd prefer the 8 or the 7, in that order, tbh. feel like if we see the clips in round 1 we're out.
