so you would've been fine with gasol/harrell at the 5 and not getting drummond?

No not saying that at all. Frustrated with the little group here that irrationally continues to denigrate him even after such a performance because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

I would liked Frank to have brought Marc in immediately when Drummond went out and Buck’s biggest lineup was in. That was the nice thing now I thought having backup and switchable big men. Rather than expecting Trez to handle that size.

he hasn't been terrible, but there was clearly a need for an upgrade. at this point, gasol just shouldn't be playing more than 15 minutes a game

hopefully vogel can figure out how to properly utilize gasol when drummond is healthy because he can still provide timely defense like we saw tonight. the only problem there is that it forces harrell to the 4 which is not a good idea

I just want him to stfu (even though he just did that LOL). No need for any more drama this season.

Just having Drummond/Kieff/Harrell/Gasol as your big man rotation is not bad at all. That is a versatile group that can give you many looks - Harrell/Morris is not one of them, I am so tired of seeing this combo. Harrell can play center for a bad team, not one playing for the title. You can talk me into Kieff playing center alongside LBJ, but to me it's shaky at best and it's not happening soon.

Genuinely asking - is Trez at the 4 that bad? After watching for months, it's my impression that he needs to be paired with a traditional big man. As his athleticism gradually fades, he can't take on bigger centers every night.

i think we could have gotten dieng and been better off. UNLESS we somehow keep drummond long term, in which case this was the smarter move.

i think most nights you don't need to play a real, traditional big c for more than 20mpg, tbh. unless your big dude is a star.

i think harrell can play the 4 with gasol. what harrell can't do is start at the 5.

Gasol should play at the 5 and Trez at 4. I don't like Trez at 5. I think Gasol and Trez can be effective on the second unit. I don't take back anything I said about preferring Cousins over Gasol, but Gasol is still useful, especially if he plays with Harrell.

The last part all day....Harrell is a 4 NOT a 5. Teams wont be able to attack him in the playoffs if you pair him with Drummond, Davis or Gasol. Eventually Vogel is going to figure that out.

it's a moot point now since we have who we have. It will be interesting to see how they both look on Sunday when we play the Clippers. Ultimately I think our best rotation is pairing Gasol with Montrez on the second unit. That allows trez to play 5 on offense and 4 on the other end.

harrell is a 4 yes, but him having to guard other 4s tends to push him out to the perimeter where his defense is awful

which is why when drummond is healthy, gasol will be the odd man out

when they play centers like the joker and embiid. Gasol will come off the bench, but I wonder about Harrell minutes in those games

Well in this case, I think we want him to do the opposite of STFU lol. Because all the drama seems to be based on him opting out of media availability since we got Drummond.

Hope he comes out and publicly welcomes Drummond and acknowledges that he’s fine with a reduced role

I’m fine with Marc’s level of play this year, it’s realistically what I expected. And just to have that as an option to now throw out in certain matchups for 10-15 minutes, rather then someone we have to rely on as a starter, IMO should be a win-win for both our team and Marc.

Hope he comes around and realizes that. I think the talk of a buyout seemed to have been BS, because that wouldn’t really make any sense. No contender could possibly have seen Marc play this year and think they’d benefit by promising him a larger role. Any situation he’d go to at this point in his career would relegate him to a utility player off the bench. Unless he wants to like go back to Memphis and start for them in a “farewell tour” kind of role while they tank.

he was starting for us when we were the best team in the league. bkn would love to have him with their scorers. the clips just signed the poor man's version to supplant their younger, more mobile backup center. utah maybe doesn't need him with gobert and favors, but denver would take him over mcgee, i'm sure. portland would love to have him. phx would take him as ayton's backup. i can't think of many contenders that wouldn't play him as much as were, tbh.

again, my question is what was he told about his role to get him to sign here and what's happened since. gasol's never been a problem anywhere at any point in his career. if he's actually mad, i'm guessing we did something wrong.

No way am I buying out Marc, see him end up on the Nets making awesome passes to their big 3 and giving Drummond a hard time on defense.

You just saw the problem last night when the guy who's better starting now got hurt. Or gets in foul trouble and the other team has a BIG lineup in. Duh! I've asked you twice who you replace Marc with who's got championship experience, smarts and skills .... in the next couple of days? Sound of crickets chirping but you're happy to hate on him. We can fix the feelings for crissakes ... just takes a hug from Jeanie.

i dont care who we replace him with, if he has hurt feelings and wants out due to current situation, I'm not going out of my way to stop him, from the looks of it if Drummond hadnt gotten hurt Marc doesnt even see the floor so Vogel obviously doesn't see a need, just a filler

No one in the Lakers organization gives a rat's bleep what you do from your armchair here. What's your point? We're trying to win a championship and unless you have someone better in mind your argument is bleep.
