Clearly the FO is focused on Drummond, but Dieng would be a good Plan B.

Dudley is old and has an MCL tear. He's probably done right? I wonder if we can open up a roster spot

Lakers have until April 9, I hope they pickup Drummond + at least one 3 and D guy. Otto Porter and Wayne Ellington looks like they'll stay put but I hope they get bought out.

Ellington and Dudley share the same agent BTW

I guess Bradley knows the system... I'll be honest and say that I didn't like how that all played out last year, but I'd give him another chance. He shot well this year, although if he ends up on the Lakers, he'll find a way to shoot under 30% for 3, that's a given.

I don’t know for sure whether we’d have enough hard cap room to sign three players, even if we cut Dudley and opened another roster spot it might be impossible.

I’m not sure though. If that were an option, yeah I think you have to do it. Load up with as many capable players as possible. Dudley is a great locker room presence, he admitted that himself that his value is more in the locker room than on the court. So no need to waste a roster spot if we can bring in someone who DOES bring some value on the court, and still allow Dudley around the team while he rehabs in some other role.

Could he resign over health issues and then be hired as a coach for the team??

I think we could free up a spot and still pay him to be part of the FO. Why not?

My pessimistic hunch is Drummond signs with another team who gives him a contract and Avery Bradley stays with Houston. We resign Dame Jones and look for a 3point shooter in the buyout market.

    Nekias Duncan a retweeté

Spacing & diverse screen coverage options certainly provides some playoff upside in a depth big for a lot of teams. Contrast that with a drop only on-ball big having an awful finishing season with massively overvalued volume > value rebounding.

And yes: a playoff team looking for big man depth should add Dieng > Drummond or Aldridge thank you for listening

yeah, i said some similar things a few pages back i think. he's a better shooter, and i think he's actually a better defender. drummond's a better rebounder, but we don't really need that.

i guess with all the injuries, we could use drummond right now more, but assuming everyone's back, dieng's the better fit.

don't know why memphis dropped him anyway.

Good that he is making a decision soon. We can't offer a lot of money now, but he got his (huge) salary already and is trying to prove he is worth the $$. What is he best way to do that? Start for a team and play a major role; go deep in the playoffs; be a legitimate contender and do what he does best - rebound the ball and play physical. I think we can offer all those things to him and Bron can only make him better. I'm not sure he gets all that in Boston, but ultimately it's his decision... no hard feelings. I just think a front court of him/AD/Bron gives no second opportunities for the opposing team, but gives us plenty of shots. It's a monster trio.
