They are going to be a very, very good team. Good to have some serious competition in the East.

Yeah, Philly, Bucks, Nets and Heat can beat each other up to get to the Finals.

He's not going to Boston. Boston is gutter trash and their gutter is getting even trashier.

how do they have $? Brown, Walker and Fournier have big contracts, they're tax paying team now and Tatum is going to get maxed this off season

Because they had a 28.7 million dollar trade exemption.Fournier is on an expiring deal at 17 million dollars, if they land Drummond they can pay him 11 million now, and then jettison Walker and Fournier for example in the offseason to keep him. We on the other hand can't offer much money now, and definitely couldn't afford him in the offseason.

Fournier can definitely be allowed to walk. Walker is a challenge at 70 million over the next two years I understand that. Then again Kyle Lowry will be 36 next season and he wants two years and 50 million. Moving any player isn't impossible in today's NBA. Folks thought that Paul, Wall, and Westbrook had untradable deals too.

Drummond becomes a FA this summer, which means he will choose the team that will maximize his value right now. It's basically an audition for him.
    - Lebron boosts his productivity on offense.
    - Playing next to AD will hide his deficiencies on defense. As will the #1 team defense in the league.
    - Vogel is better than Stevens at utilizing bigs
    - We will make a deep playoff run, the C bags will not.

Maybe but the East isn't that invincible to me. Adding Drummond to the C bags makes them a tough out in a seven game series. Tatum, Brown and Smart have already gone deep in the payoffs, it's not like they are injured. I like AD and Drummond together, double AD is catchy too. Still I would not underestimate the Green goblins in this situation. It is not the slam dunk some think it is..again how would we afford to keep Drummond if we got him? I Don't expect him to take a seriously deep discount to play with AD and Lebron. On another note if we squeezed a title out of him this season, it's all good to me if he walked.

Danny Ainge is in charge. He probably thinks he can get Giannis straight up for Walker.

Even with Drummond the C bags are worse than the Nets, Philly, Bucks and Heat. And they're going to face 2 of those teams in the first 2 rounds.

We're the clear favorites in the West and even more so with Drummond. We are the better situation for him and it's not remotely close.

And yeah, we only need him this year. We could always grab another ring-chasing big this summer.

I disagree. Giannis chokes in the playoffs, I'm not sure KD is healthy and who knows where Kyrie's brain will be in the playoffs. Philly is the fav to me but what if Embid gets dinged up? One of those four is getting bounced in the first round if Drummond went to Boston.

That said I'm a Lakers fan, I want to see him in the Purple and Gold, but I don't think it's a slam dunk. Drummond might simply want to get paid the most cash, than chase a ring in LA. Or he might feel like he can get paid and chase a ring in Brooklyn. The Knicks can give him 4 years and 64 million right now, Boston can pay him 11 million and Tatum, Brown and Smart are playoff proven performers. Bottom line the dude has options.

Yes, he has options. And we are the best one if he wants to get paid this summer.

I'm not sure if you're watching the games, but the C bags suck. They're nearly out of the playoff picture and clearly worse than the Top 4 teams in the East.

The season isn't over and Miami has lost 5 straight, anything can happen, I can't say that the East is settled at this point. You want him to play for the Lakers, I get that, but the Green Goons are going to be a player in this horse race.

You’ve done this multiple times: implying people are homers because they disagree with your take. I think both the Nets and Clippers make a more compelling case than Boston. You could say both of those teams make a better case than the Lakers. The people who disagree with you are not simply Lakers fans who want Drummond. We just think it’s a bad take and you’re beating a dead horse.

The sooner you all accept that the Nets are coming out of the East, the easier it will be to prepare in your minds what the Lakers need to beat them. If the Lakers are healthy and they can add a Drummond or whatever, the Lakers will beat the Nets. If they aren't healthy, the Nets will win the title. Durant, Harden and Kyrie are too much talent and in their primes.
